Tattoos Anyone?I would like to know how many of you mommies have tattoos. If so, is there a meaning behind your tat? Or would you like to get one?
I have two of them. One on my lower back; it has four flowers with vines that connect them. Each flower represents a member of my family. The flowers are colored with each of our birth stone colors. Then I have one on my front right hip. It's a flower too. It doesn't have any meaning behind it, but I think it's pretty. Looks good when I'm in my bikini!!

Hello Sunshine......I have just 1 tattoo, it's on my upper thigh its just a small heart shaded in purple no meaning behind it. Just liked the way it looked.

Well I do have tattoos right now I have 5 and yes all of them have meaning. My first one i got was a turtle flipping a peanut on my left shoulder which those are both my nicknames turtle and peanut. The second one was my husbands name on the back of my neck, 3rd and 4th were my daughters names on my ankles. Now to explain my latest which is still a work in progress it is actually going to be a full sleeve on my left arm. It is a tribute for my grandparents which I loved dearly and wanted to show it and hopefully cope more with their passing by this tattoo. They really enjoyed nature and cardinals were my grandmothers favorite bird. So there are two cardinals a male and a female with a breast cancer ribbon tying it onto a branch of a cherry blossom tree on the underneath of my arm it will have a heart with the date they got married in it and on the lower part of my arm there will be a small pond with a deer and a frog and a turtle around it and a picnic blanket underneath the tree. The tree also has their initials "carved" into it. The picture is of course of the newest one. Which when this is done I do plan on getting more. I love being able to express myself and have such beautifull pieces of art that are my own visions ilistrated by very talented people.

Wow, sounds like it'll look awesome when it's done. It looks good now too. I've always wanted to get a sleeve but just don't have the guts to! lol! You'll have to post another photo once it's done!

I have a black rose on my lower back (tramp stamp) with a dragon wrapped around it. I got it when I was 24, I was the black rose and the dragon wraped around it is a symbol of my life at the time which was a complete crazy mess! I also have a heart with 2 roses on my left hip. I want to get both my kids names on my left shoulder on the back, some angel wings & the word "faith" in Japanese on my left side. I want to design all three too.

What a beautiful piece you are in the process of finishing! It is a great way to cope with the passing of a loved one. My husband has a lot of tatttoos. He got a memorial one done after his cousin was killed in a car accident. His cousin had barely turned 18 when it happened...He was a senior in high school & very popular (on the football team). It really took a toll on our whole family. His older brother was serving in Iraq when it happened. Our family was very worried about his brother getting killed in Iraq...little did we know we would lose one here at home :0( We miss him dearly!

Mommylove, I had no idea you had tattoos!!! They sound pretty! And I like your ideas for your future ones. I designed both of my tattos myself, as well. They just have more meaning when you've done the work yourself. It's hard work, but very rewarding! You'll need to send me pictures of yours so I can see them & I'll try to take some pics of mine to share, as well!!

Hey Sunshine: I have 4 myself and each has individual meanings. My father came over from italy and was nicknamed ying/yang (he has olive skin and very slanted eyes), mind you this was in the early 1940s so I have a ying/yang symbol with Daddy written above it on my shoulder, I have my mother's full name which is also my name wrapped completely around one ankle and it connects first name, middle initial and last name, I also have my son's initials on my lower spine (LJF) and a heart with 2 dots on top and bottom along with 4 daggers each dot stands for both of my deceased parents and each dagger stands for 2 brothers and 2 very close cousins who have passed on and were very important in my life.

I just got my first tattoo in January 2007, so I'm still a noobie to the "tattoo world" LOL!!! I was 27 for my first. Then I got my new one on my hip about 5 months ago. My hubby does electircal work in exchange for tattoos so I could get more for free anytime I want to, but I think I'm done!

Innamorato....What a unique tattoo!! I've never even heard that word before! And what is a "claddaugh" symbol? (Gosh, I hope that's not a stupid question, but IDK what it is!!!) Do you any ideas on the design or location of where you are getting your kids & fiance's names?
