I have a small cross with a heart in it on my left hip. I did it just kind of as a symbol of my faith. I definitely want more, at least one to represent my commitment to my family and hubby. I got mine in San Diego while on vacation, and I just don't know any good places to get them done here in Utah. Jen I would love to see yours, you need to get some pics up!
It is hard to find a good tattoo shop that you trust. Luckily our tattoo guy has been a friend of ours for years. I trust him 100%. I would never get tattooed by anybody other than him. Maybe you can check out some of your local tattoo shops on-line to see their work. They may even be able to give you some ideas on what kind of tattoo you can get to represent your commitment to your family. And I will post some pics of mine once I can figure out how to upload my photos...IDK if my files are too big or what, but I cannot upload any of them!?!?

LOL my husband had a 'friend of a friend' do his tattoo on his back, I feel so bad for him, it's crooked and faded and just doesn't look right. lol but luckily he never sees it so he still thinks it's great. shhhh...don't tell! lol. I loooove the guy that did mine in San Diego, I would probably go back out there just to get future ones by him. I was having problems uploading my pics last night too, did you try the bulk uploader? That's the only way I got mine up, just make a folder with the ones you want to upload in it and drag the whole folder over. Let me know if you have any probs I can try to walk you through it.

LOL!!! Poor hubby!!! That's a funny story...at least he can't see it!!! Regarding uploading pics...I can't either the simple loader or the bulk loader...do I need a special program to use the bulk one? It just shows a blank screen when I try to use it???!!!??

Summer, you are so funny! I can't believe his tat is crooked! I'm really excited bc I plan to go to LA Ink to get mine done once I have the time to design them, I need to have my other ones filled in too bc they're a little faded... I figure it's worth the money if I'll have them on my body for the rest of my life right? I so wish we could plan a trip out there together, even if just for overnight!

thanks I think it is gonna be super amazing when it is fully finished . Its taken a lot of work so far but i think once the top part is all the way done then its gonna go pretty fast. My husband also has a lot of tattoos like 15 i think so far and hes no where near done yet. He just got our daughters footprints on his left side said it hurt so bad. I was laughing at him while he was getting it done though lol I guess thats mean. I have blue added to the sky now on my arm when it is fully done I will post a new picture up here so whoever wants can see it. My husband is in the navy and stationed out in San Diego so I got three of my 5 done there. All of the names were done out there by a guy named Johnny at Inkers in Lakeside I really liked his work but I love the guy I have here in Indiana he does absolutely amazing work. He also did the turtle that you can see in that picture too. Which the turtle was my first one and I got it when I was 18. I keep trying to convince my mom to get one she says she will when she turns 50. I'm sorry to hear about your loss. I have had a couple friends pass away over in Iraq and it terrifies me when they go over there. Thankfully my husband wont be going over there because his boat is not equipped for combat so I dont worry as much about him. Anyways i hope you can figure out how to get your pictures up I would love to see them. Take careWhat a beautiful piece you are in the process of finishing! It is a great way to cope with the passing of a loved one. My husband has a lot of tatttoos. He got a memorial one done after his cousin was killed in a car accident. His cousin had barely turned 18 when it happened...He was a senior in high school & very popular (on the football team). It really took a toll on our whole family. His older brother was serving in Iraq when it happened. Our family was very worried about his brother getting killed in Iraq...little did we know we would lose one here at home :0( We miss him dearly!

I have a black rose on my lower back (tramp stamp) with a dragon wrapped around it. I got it when I was 24, I was the black rose and the dragon wraped around it is a symbol of my life at the time which was a complete crazy mess! I also have a heart with 2 roses on my left hip. I want to get both my kids names on my left shoulder on the back, some angel wings & the word "faith" in Japanese on my left side. I want to design all three too.
nichole said:Well I do have tattoos right now I have 5 and yes all of them have meaning. My first one i got was a turtle flipping a peanut on my left shoulder which those are both my nicknames turtle and peanut. The second one was my husbands name on the back of my neck, 3rd and 4th were my daughters names on my ankles. Now to explain my latest which is still a work in progress it is actually going to be a full sleeve on my left arm. It is a tribute for my grandparents which I loved dearly and wanted to show it and hopefully cope more with their passing by this tattoo. They really enjoyed nature and cardinals were my grandmothers favorite bird. So there are two cardinals a male and a female with a breast cancer ribbon tying it onto a branch of a cherry blossom tree on the underneath of my arm it will have a heart with the date they got married in it and on the lower part of my arm there will be a small pond with a deer and a frog and a turtle around it and a picnic blanket underneath the tree. The tree also has their initials "carved" into it. The picture is of course of the newest one. Which when this is done I do plan on getting more. I love being able to express myself and have such beautifull pieces of art that are my own visions ilistrated by very talented people.
Thanks, everyone tells me I am crazy for doing it. My mom thinks its way to big and the rest of my family basically freaks out about it . I am the oddball in the family thats for sure. My dad is the only one who is really supportive of it but it is also for his parents. He does think its a bit too big but he says its beautiful and he cant wait for it to be finished. I cant wait for it to be done as well because that means no more pain while hes working on the inside of my arm. That is a very tender spot for future reference lol. I personally would love to see more females with sleeves. Where I am living now apparently if you are a female and have a big tattoo on your arm it makes you a lesbian. which I am not so that kinda bothers me. I am not used to living in a small town again where people are so stereotypical. SInce for the last 3 1/2 years I have lived in San Diego. Its a big change to come back home. So I hope you conjure the guts and go out and get a sleeve lol.Well I do have tattoos right now I have 5 and yes all of them have meaning.
