Yay! Summer is almost here, and nothing feels better in the heat than jumping into the pool. Do you feel safe having a swimming pool in your backyard? If so, what sorts of methods do you find work well for teaching your kids to be safe in the water?
If you don't feel safe owning a pool, do you allow your children to visit friends who have pools?
Our new house has an inground pool in the backyard. Though it is my second favorite thing about the house I am very nervous. I've been looking into getting one of those pool nets to keep the kids safe when not in use. My biggest fear is that my son who is 14 months who is already learning to open doors will sneak out the back door and fall in the pool. Other than that, my girls know the rules...no pool unless there is an adult outside watching!
