Hey Flea, Two weeks and two days down, doc says up to 10 weeks to go. I'm praying for a shorter turn-around time. Trying really hard to be good.
Hey, ladies, I'd like to take this discussion up a notch. How many of you blog and have questions about blogging? Did you know it's one of the fastest growing media forms right now? Did you know that it's an amazing way to connect, to write, to share the gospel, to talk to other women, etc.?
What questions do you have about blogging? What expertise can you offer?
I may make this another discussion so it won't get lost, but let me know if this is something you ladies want to talk about. : )
I have a blog but struggle with how to get people to it. The people that do come give me excellent feedback, and one nice comment can keep me motivated for months. :) But, my question would be: How do you grow a readership?
Would you be willing to post your link and let several of us go to it and share our thoughts?
These are the key things I do to bring people back: Blog regularly. I just finished blogging for the week on Real Teen Faith. I have others that blog with me. I add content, links, devos, etc. It receives from 250 to 350 hits per day. 200 of those are uniques. It comes up in the Top 5 of google if you look for keywords like teen faith, teen devos, teens and God, etc. Content is king.
2. Link in your posts to others. If you are talking about Disneyworld, link to it. It pulls you up on the search engines if a mom is looking for something about Disneyworld. Your thoughts on your trip just might be what she's looking for, but she wouldn't find it if you didn't link to it.
I have a mom blog called The Mom Daily. http://themomdaily.blogspot.com/
It is about just what is says, the daily life of a mom. It is a little bare at the moment because I just switched blog hosts but by next week it should be all better LOL
I know I don't blog enough, that may be most of the problem. Still, I get about 250 hits a month, not much compared to Suzie, but pretty good for an unknown right? Check it out and let me know what you think.
I also had not heard of linking to other sites in order to be pulled in a search. Awesome.
I blog at http://cherylbarker.blogspot.com/ . I am all about refreshing spirits and nourishing souls. I do link to other sites at times, but I need to be more alert to opportunities to do that. Hope you all will come over and be refreshed! :)
Hey! I stumbled upon something today that really helped me realize things that were missing on my blog/website. This site "grades" your site and gives you feedback on what you are missing and how that might be holding you back. I thought it was excellent. It is: WebsiteGrader.com

My blog is http://bringonthebooks.blogspot.com. One of my passions is books, so I review a different type of book every weekday. Mondays I review picture books, Tuesdays are kids books, Wednesdays are books about faith, Thursdays are for non-fiction and Fridays are adult fiction (mostly mysteries with some sci fi and chick lit and other genres).
With god as my witness, I will never eat dirt again!
LOVE aunt Pittypat. Here's some trivia - this movie is the only popular Civil War movie without a single battle scene.
I like living. I have sometimes been wildly, despairingly, acutely miserable, racked with sorrow, but through it all I still know quite certainly that just to be alive is a grand thing.
