With the recent news of the Octuplets, we want to know, did you breastfeed and would you nurse EIGHT babies if you had to? Or would you even want to????
I breastfeed 2 out of my three kids.
I would try my hardest to pump and nurse 8 babies but I think doing this would consume most of a day if babies nurse or need to be feed every two hours. It would be very tough but possibly do able.
I would pump as much as I could to give them as much as I could but I don't think you'd have a lot of time for pumping with 8 babies. Getting them to all nurse would be a challenge in itself and you'd be nursing ALL day, literally (8 babies eating every 3 hours..3x8=24). I would try my best to get a LOT of help so I could have some pumping time to give them my milk for as long as possible so they'd have the antibodies. IN this situation, I would probably enlist the help of a breast milk bank. The milk is pasturized, safe and in ready to feed bottles.
i would try my hardest, certainly. i breastfed my daughter for 16 months and my son turns 2 next month and is still breastfeeding.
i am lucky that i have a large circle of women who are dedicated breastfeeding activists and so i know they would all donate milk to help me out to ensure all 8 babies received breastmilk.
