I raised four kids. My youngest son started college last year, and I was amazed at how much easier it was than I thought it would be. I took advantage of the extra "me" time to organize pictures, bake bread, cut coupons, give myself a pedicure, etc. I started helping family members with projects they were working on, like getting books edited, published and marketed -- manufacturing math games. As a result, I partnered with one of my sisters to start a company that helps teachers, and we now sponsor teacher conferences in Texas. If you find yourself missing your kids, send them a care package from home. It will help you feel better and they'll enjoy it, too!

DD is in her 3rd year of college. The first year was hard because she went to a college about 2 hours away. The next year she transferrred to one in town and it's been alot easier. For DH and I it's like the first 5 years of marriage (before having a kid) all over again..

This year I am expanding my horizons - so I launched a website dedicated to honoring moms around the country. I also post recipes and blog about volunteering, events in S. California, etc. This is a creative outlet for me and a way to improve my writing. I used to do a lot of writing in my work but it was all business writing (reports, business letters, etc.)
Come visit my site and nominate a mom! We all know someone who deserves it and, even if you're an empty-nester, you're a mom for life!

I DD is in her 3rd year . The first year she lived on campus but she is too funny. She would call me and say ,"Mom,its raining out and I forgot my umbrella,would you bring me one?"
It was only 45 mins away for me so I did. I think she just missed me as much as I missed her.
I keep busy on the computer. I also try to help different charities,it keeps me busy!

I could really use the camera, I am doing my student teaching in January and we have to have all of our porfolio on a dvd I could use the camera to take the pictures and put it on a disk.
that would be wonderful to be able to see the history in the museum.
My little brother lost his job six months ago these things would really help his family.
I have a new litter of puppies to take pictures of. 3 females and many more to come. This camera would come in handy for a scrapbook for all my babies.
