My husband and I thought we were pregnant for about a week before I made my appointment to see my doctor. Being young (21), we were kind of scared, but very excited about the idea of adding an addition to our family. After deciding we REALLY hoped we were pregnant, and couldn't wait for the doctor's appointment, we ran out to Wal-Mart to buy a AHPT.

The night before I took the test, I must have read the instructions 20 times. As we all know, it says your first 'pee' of the day is the most likely to yield a more accurate response, so I laid out the stick so it would be ready first thing in the morning. Then, at 3:30am in the morning, I woke up, needing to pee. So, as I walked to the bathroom, I decided I would pee on the stick! I waited the 2 minutes, which seemed like a ETERNITY, and saw that indeed, I was pregnant. I smiled to myself, and cried happy tears for about 10 minutes before leaving the bathroom.

Then, at 3:45am, I told my husband "You're going to be a Daddy!" We hugged each other and cried for about 10 minutes. Then we tried to go back to sleep, after 2 hours it became clear this wasn't going to happen, so we went out for a very early breakfast to celebrate our baby!
Well, let's see! I was VERY shocked when I found out that I was pregnant with my second child because: #1-my only son at the time was 10 YEARS OLD (IMO, he practically had ONE foot OUT the door! Ü) and #2-I had been extremely faithful to my birth control pills, taking them at the same time EVERY single day (you know, to ensure "round the clock" protection-alot of good that did). I also remember that the first thought that ran through my mind (and I actually did say this to one of my co-workers at the time) was, "OMG! You are gonna see me on the 5 o'clock news playing in rush hour traffic!" Of course, my little surprise is now 5 years old and I wouldn't trade him for anything in the world. But, I do have to admit that it did take some time to let the idea sink in. Ü
Yes, it was right after Thanksgiving and I was working at home and couldn't stop smelling my toddler's waffles that I hadn't cleaned up yet. I kept thinking "it smells like waffles". That was a definite sign!
i pretended i didn't see the 2nd line. it was so faint, i just didn't believe it. my husband worked in the lab in the hospital & said over and over again that he would deem that pregnancy test as a postitive. a few days later, i peed on 2 more sticks to make sure. i didn't truly believe it until i saw the heart fluttering on the ultrasound screen weeks later.
I had just felt depressed and not myself for about a week. DH was out over the road driving truck and I got up on a Saturday morning and just took a test. I set a timer because I had read that leaving it alone to long could give a false positive. So I came back and it said Pregnant. I was so shocked I couldn't believe it. I called DH (not the best move but I couldn't wait till he got home to tell him). Then proceeded to head to walmart for another 2 pack of tests just to be sure. By the time I called the doctor that Monday I had taken 4 tests all different brands because I just couldn't believe it. I was soooo happy and elated! I was going to be a first time Mommy and it was one of the happiest days of my life.
My husband and I had been half heartedly been trying for 6 months to have a child. I was only about 1 week late and I thought for the heck of it I would take a pregnancy test. We were cleaning out the garage and no matter what I tried I couldn't pee on the stick. I thought, well, this may be the last time I can have a beer (and it was sure to make me pee). Well I enjoyed my last beer the the year! I came outside to show my husband the pregancy test and he thought I was holding a thermometer. Aren't you feeling good - do you have a temperature was his reply. My knees were knocking just as bad as they were on our fist date.
When I first found out I was pregnant with my last son Nicholas. I was in shock. I found out I was pregnant in April and I had just given birth in December. OMG.
My husband and I had just decided to stop trying to get pregnant and just focus on our careers. So while cleaning my bathroom I noticed that I had one pregnancy test left over from a box of three that I hadn't used. I decided, "what the heck, take the test and get rid of it." Lo and behold, two lines appear. I didn't believe it so I called my mom, of all people, to tell her that I just got a positive test and I didn't think it was accurate. HA! This was Feb. 13, 2008 and my husband was in Canada on a business trip. He would be coming back on the 15th and we were going to celebrate Valentine's Day at a Bed and Breakfast in Wimberley, Texas. I wanted to wait until Valentine's Day to tell him but I couldn't wait so I text messaged him a picture of the test. He called me back and said, "Is that what I think it is?" Needless to say, no champagne for me in a nice warm hot tub in a heart-shaped jacuzzi.
The first time when I heard I was pregnant, my response to the nurse was: "Oh."

I did not know what to say, what my boyfriend is going to say or my parents.

Then I got on the phone, my boyfriend was working that Saturday, and he picked up the phone, with my first words to him was: "I'm pregnant!" Not a "hello" or "hi", just "I'm pregnant!" My boyfriend did not say a thing, he was silent. He just told me that he will talk to me when he gets home.

So that is what my first response was and my boyfriend (now my hubby!)
I got pregnant when I was 14 and I was scared to death. I knew I was giving birth and raising this child, so I grew up fast. Her dad and I married when she was a year old, now 35 years later we are still very much in love.
I was VERY EXCITED! Hoping that my first child would be a daughter because for some reason I always wanted a girl first. (My first one is a girl, although if I would have had a boy he would have been loved just as much).
I think somewhere I wrote her letters telling her how I excited I was for her to come to earth and live with me! :)
It took us ages to conceive and we ended up using ivf. When I found out I was pregnant each time it was during very early ultrasounds. For our second successful pregnancy we were looking at the screen without really knowing what we were seeing and the doctor casually stated "two for two" and I couldn't believe what I heard. I asked him what he said and he explained I was having twins! I was so happy, I had always wanted twins and over the years I said many times to people: "wouldn't it be cool to have boy/girl twins?" and I really wished for that. I ended up having boy/girl twins - and it has been a great experience all around ever since. If you wish for something hard enough, the universe usually delivers!
