Real Stories. Real Advice. Real Moms.

If shoes were thrown at Obama the person would have probably been executed. Honestly, I think the media thought it was funny. What you didn't see is the secret service jumping right on top of him and protecting the president. He still is the president of this United States. It could have been something truly harmful. Also the meaning of throwing shoes at someone in the Arab world is an insult. This man should not be allowed at any other presidential press meetings. He should be treated as if it was a bomb. If it happened that a kid did that in a school, they would be suspended.

There is going to be alot of double standards now that Obama is president. The press won't make fun of him like they did with the other (white) presidents. No one will say anything bad about him because they don't want to be called a racist.

I totally agree... had someone thrown shoes at Obama it would have been called a hate crime and the media would have had a field day over it. It's sad. If everyone in this country is supposedly equal, then why does the media cater to some races more than others? Just my opinion...

I thought of that, why is it okay for some but not others?

I wouldn't go as far as saying someone would be executed had it been Obama, but I do think the media found the situation funny. What I actually took away from this was that the Secret Service isn't as protective as I'd always thought. It scares me to think that anyone could get close enough to the President to almost hit him with flying objects. On another note, I don't believe this incident had anthing to do with race. If Obama adopts any of Bush's foreign policies, he should expect shoes to be flying his way.

Yay for racism. Really, you think that Obama hasn't been exposed to racism since President? Birthers. I don't see you all up in arms about the blatant disrespect of Obama from the conservatives, but that is ok. Double standard isn't it?

Are you aware that the "Birther" situation has a court date? Do you know that all of Obama's records are sealed. Yes, sealed! He has spent over 3 million $ to keep the birth certificate (the real one) all his education records sealed. He was improperly vetted. That is not racism, that is a matter of security for the United States of America. That is a matter of rule of law. I humbly reject your kudos for racism. There is not greater detriment than hate of our fellow human.
Why was Obama not subjected to the same scrutinity as all the presidents before him? It is not his race, what is the real reason?
Had someone thrown a shoe at Obama, they may have hit him while he was attempting to read the teleprompter....

Well, I would have it (Pregancy test) in a gift bag with other baby items. Or I will have his favorite items (Snacks and candies) and then give it to him after eating his favorite meal.
