I am stunned about this discussion. Clearly there is only one sociopath in this dicussion and that is Kaycee. Please Kaycee go see a shrink. I did have a choice between abortion or not. We choose live. My son has a lot of medical problems but who are you to tell anybody they should choose abortion. No child does harm to the world by being born with certain dissabilaties,
You could learn a lot from children and adults with dissabilaties. You are the one that doesn't understand squat. I just feel very sorry for you. Because you don't seem to understand that these kids have a something very special.

In regards to this whole conversation, there are a lot of falsehoods, feelings, and truths being shared by all. I think it would be difficult to have it end satisfactorily. The only thing I would add is that no group should be singled out and targeted. We know from history the danger of doing so. We have responsibility for the choices we make, the words we say, and the intentions we share. Please consider the rights of all.

Jo, I'm not singling out anybody. There are many types of sociopath; it's not a depravity that is limited to a certain intelligence range. However, I am VERY impressed that you, for one, have learned from the many tragedies and atrocities of World War II. Those who voted for Obama must not have realized that Hitler and Stalin were Socialists, too, just as Obama is. I'm very disappointed at those who consider all professors "intellectuals," since any WWII history professor should be entirely familiar with what the Nazi movement was, and what the Neo-Nazi movement is.

Don't trash-talk me, you insensitive monster. I am the least sociopathic person on the planet. Clearly, you don't know what a 'sociopath' truly is. Read The Sociopath next Door, by Martha Stout. As evidence against your pathetic, and largely incorrect, argument, I offer witness that I have several disabilities, and many of them stem from the damage incurred by my not taking my first breath of air until after my mother pointed out to the doctor that I was cyanotic, and babies aren't supposed to be blue. And for further evidence against your illogical argument, one of those "special" individuals raped me, and was not prosecuted due to his "disability."

I know I ended this discussion a while ago, but I feel the need to inform doublemam that she is 'way off by thinking that a psychiatrist or psychologist could ever 'fix' a sociopath (I had previously responded to her accusation that I was a sociopath). A sociopath CANNOT 'gain' a conscience. They do not have the ability to EVER become true members of the human race. I don't know what's going to happen to their spirits after they die (all living things have a spirit, not to be confused with a conscience). There are some people who believe we'll have the opportunity to be with our pets in heaven, but in light of the little boy from Minneapolis, MN, who was mauled by the family pet, I can't say that that makes perfect sense. However, since the dog's owner seemed to miss the dog [when he/she was taken from him] more than he missed his own son, I would wager that that guy is not going to get passed the gates of heaven when he passes.
For doublemam's further information, OF COURSE merely being born does not do irreparable damage to the world. A sociopath's words and actions can't harm others until he or she is physically capable of doing so. Judging by doublemam's writing skills, she must've read my blog entry and typed her reply in a blind rage. Quite frankly, her mind must be very small if she doesn't know, by this time, that all of us have disabilities. I'll leave the discussion at this point so she can go ponder what HER disabilities are (a hint: start by considering your attitude).

Awe look how cute the little baby is. I hope he doesn't endure a lot of physical suffering throughout the rest of his life due to the physical disabilities that can accompany his disorder. I wish him luck as he grows up and grows old in this in this cruel world. aweee cute little baby.

So, Quesadilla, maybe you are in the 5%.

You're just not very bright; are you, howddo? Not really paying attention to the conversation, either; are you? If you're going to read ONE of my blog entries, you really need to follow through and read the whole conversation, including THE OTHER ENTRIES I'VE WRITTEN. Get a clue!

Why do so many people put so much emphasis on physical and academic suffering? My girlhood companion, Doris, suffered with these things, but the most damaging suffering I witnessed in her life was the social torture. THAT'S where the REAL suffering is: the social scene or social circle. I saw Doris suffer in this way more than any other way. Yeah, I suffered for being welded to her at the hip for four years, but I also saw her suffer, because her mother did not love her enough to place her in a school more suited to her in any important way.
I have disabilities as well, although mine are environmental - not genetic - and I have to broadcast it from every possible podium: The worst damage to a disabled person is cut into them by society.

If you have a positive outlook on life you can overcome any hurdle no matter how hard life is or will be.

Reply to This

Maybe that's true -- of hurdles. I'm talking about disabilities. Clearly you don't understand why they are called disabilities. A disability is not the same thing as a challenge. To an AP calculus student, the final exam would be an example of a challenge. A disability means that the objective simply CANNOT BE REACHED by the afflicted individual. For example, I can drive, but not safely, or legally. I simply cannot process the information that's coming at me from all directions at 35 miles per hour (or even 5 mph, for that matter) quickly enough to avoid hitting -- for example -- cars, trees, people, sign posts, buildings. . .Believe me: YOU do NOT want me to sit behind the steering wheel of a motor vehicle. If disabilities could be overcome, there wouldn't be disability insurance, social security disability, handicap-accessible entrances, and the like. Once again, not very bright of you, doublemam.
Additionally, if any "hurdle" can be overcome, how about tweaking your attitude-problem a bit?
