has anyone had weight lose surgery?

Hi Diane. One of my best friends just had this done a few months ago. She is doing very well with it. She has lost alot of weight and still wants to loose 50 more lbs. She was always heavy in High School and her knees just gave out on her. She was on alot of meds. and she did have some side affects. Another friend of mine had it done also. She is doing well too. You really need to think about how little you can eat. Very little.

thanks Betsy, your the only one to comment. and yes i have been thinking about how little i can eat. my knees are also going out on me. i had to borrow my dads wheel chair today because my knee hurt so bad. starting dec 4, i will be on liquids for one mo. then have the surgery. thats thru christmas. hope i can do it.

I attempted to have the realize band done on Sept 21 but when the doctor open me and began to look around he seen I had a hernia that needed repairing and I also had scar tissues real bad. When the nurse woke me up I heard her tell another nurse she didn't have the band done due to complications. I thought I was dreaming until they wheeled me in my room and I seen the look on my dad and my husband face. They began to tell me what the doctor said. I was so upset until I began to cry. And on top all that I had to go back to surgery two days later because I had a leake in my stomach. Then I got pheumonia. I finally got out the hospital on October 15. If you haven't had any previous surgery you should be ok. I will keep you in my prayers and I wish you good luck with your journey to a successful weight loss program.

thanks karen and sorry about your surgery. will they let you take it later? i havent had stomach surgery before so maybe mine will go ok. thanks for the prayers.
