I'm addicted to the internet-- and my kid is catching on!

The other day my preschooler was pretending to type --using a book as a computer. I asked her to pick up her toys and she said "No, she's working" Yike. That's what I say to her when I'm on the computer. but i'm not always working...sometimes I'm checking my friends facebook status.

Don't feel bad..we have enough computers iin the house for each child...they are totally addicted..my teenagers are addicted to facebook. I don't care about them using the internet or the computer....just use it effectively. I try to make sure the homework is done and they look up scripture before they play....gotta keep some order! LOL

My 15 year old got really upset with me at Marshall's recently because I was on my blackberry while we were shopping for shoes for her upcoming dance. "Mom, this is MY time!" she said. Made me feel crappy. She was right.

I do exactly the same thing Jackie.

Oh and I've used the 'I'm working' thing more than I can count ... networking has the word 'work' in it, doesn't it :)

My teenager spends more time on the computer than I do, but admittedly he's homeschooled and does 90% of his school work on one, but once that is done he's playing on-line video games with his friends.

I have recently started shutting myself off between dinner and their bedtime. It's the only way I can force myself to be entirely present. Not proud... just honest.

Kids are way too smart. I just got this forward about "when you thought I wasn't looking" about all the things kids pick upon - when you think they're looking or not. Both good and bad.
