Don't get me wrong, I think he was musical genius. But sorry, MJ fans but I AM OVER IT!

the city of LA has a 400 million + deficit and they are spending over 3 million to throw a memorial for someone who may or may not be a pedophile? i realize that the charges we dropped after he paid roughly 20 million each, and that he was never convicted. i also realize he had a horrible and abusive childhood. but i have a problem with people who elevate celebrities so such status. he was an icon, great. i get it. sadly, in my mind, his musical career will be forever tarnished by his bizarre behavior and the accusations that he paid 40 million dollars to make the child molestation charges "go away."

the state of CA is giving away IOU's for tax returns and can't pay for any special programs for the needy, yet no one has a problem with this enormous memorial that is disrupting life for all in the So. Cal area? to me, it's sick. you can hate me if you want to but i think there are much more pressing things this state/country/world needs to be worried about. that's all.

I agree with you one hundred percent. They were talking about how much LA is having to pay for everything and it's outrageous. I understand that people want to mourn his death but it the memorial was a little extreme.

I have had a few rough months because of these IOUs that the state is sending out and it bothers me that while so many people and programs get put on hold other things (such as a lavish memorial & everything that has to go along with it) gets paid for.

Wait, I was fine with it (although I think it is over-the -top as well) when I thought his family was paying for it, but are you saying our tax dollars are paying for this? I loved his music as well, but seriously, that was a long time ago. He is just another person, the only thing I am worried about when people die is if they go to heaven or not, not how we are going to make their last celebration all crazy. Everybody will forget about it soon enough anyways.

I am sorry they are making people like you suffer so they can splurge on a dead person before they set him into the ground.

I think this whole things is getting way to much coverage. Although I always figured that when this man died he would get this much coverage. So it didn't come as a surprise to me. The thing that people need to realize is that 'the wages sin pays is death' so no matter what bad things he did while he was alive they are erased because his death paid for all the bad things that he did or might have done. So we just need to let this whole thing R.I.P and move on to more important news.

Here is an article about what cost the city of Los Angeles wants taxpayers to help pay. They said that they had to uses about 3,000 officers to help with crowd and traffic control and paid for lunch for them also. So they are asking fans to donate money to help pay for the salaries of the officers who were assigned to work the memorial.

I'm also tired of all the coverage of his death. He was a gifted performer, but also a weirdo.

I think they should have figured out how to pay for it BEFORE doing the memorial.

Well, I would have it (Pregancy test) in a gift bag with other baby items. Or I will have his favorite items (Snacks and candies) and then give it to him after eating his favorite meal.
