Pregnancy and New Baby Must-Haves

So far my pregnancy must have is water - all the time! I can't keep from being thirsty.
Since I haven't had my baby yet, I am not sure what my new baby must-haves are - but I am loading up on cloth diapers!

Patience. It's going to be rough the first couple of weeks. Opinions will differ on actual products, but patience with yourself is the most important thing I can recommend.

a great swaddling blanket is a must!!! it saved me so much with my son!

You MUST have a Diaper Genie! This is a great gift, stores diapers without the stinky smell. If I don't get one at the shower, it'll be one of my first purchases!

More than anything else you must have a swing, the kind that go side to side as well as front to back, they are lifesavers! I was gonna say an inhuman amount of patience,but we all already know that. ha ha ha

I would say organization.... I know that's not a thing you can buy in a store, but it's what helped me most with having twins! Keeping things simple, knowing where everything is... being a new Mom is stressful enough without having to deal with clutter :-p And, if you need help getting organized or staying organized, don't be shy about asking for help! And don't ask just once... as good of intentions as people may have, everyone gets caught up in their daily lives and if you stay silent, it's easy for people to not realize how much you might be struggling. Don't worry about bugging people... the people who really care about you will want to help. You might just have to remind them a few times :-)

A new mom's must have a swing. Not everyone likes this item, but I love it. They come now with all types of extras - music, sounds, mobiles, lights. It's like giving your child a birthday party everyday. Greatest thing about it, is the fact that you can get your house chores done while watching the baby. If you're lucky, the baby will fall asleep. Mariah use to spend all her time in the swing.

Oohh...also a vibrating bouncy seat. My first daughter would literally purr herself to sleep because of the vibrations...she LOVED it!

I think all new moms absolutely need a good sling, like one from kangaroocorner.com. I prefer one with rings so it's easy to adjust from little babies up to toddlers and works with your changing shape. For me, it's essential to stop my baby's fussing, keep her happy so I can have my hands free to do some chores, go for a walk with my older kids, do the grocery shopping, etc.

Please pick me! I just had my first girl, after 2 boys and we would love to win!

carrier - mei tai
clothes - comfy no frufru stuff
blankets
crib
carseat
milk - breast preferably
