Should a celeb mom being "hands on" really make the news?

Today there is another story in the news about a celeb mom proclaiming she's "hands-on."

Brooke Burke says: "I think I'm a really hands-on mom. I always have a lot of different stuff going on, but fortunately I do well on overdrive. I'm just leaving a huge Internet meeting right now and rushing clear across town to pick up my kids, because it's important to them, and they love it. We have karate after school today and I try to do as many things as I can that mean a lot to them."

As moms, aren't we ALL hands-on? Should celebs get special recognition for it?

No not at all, because us non celeb moms are always hands on. Doing amazing things like this as well, running so many errands per day, between work kids, if you don't work shoot i'm sure you are doing everythign else. So no i don't think that you should get special recognition for it.
There are lots of Moms out there that aren't "hands on". These types of Moms can benefit from stories like this. We are all busy, we all face challenges everyday. But coming home to your kids or even being home with your kids each day and doing the very best you can to be "hands on" is the good stuff in life. I think that very busy Moms and other celebrity or high profile moms who struggle can benefit from hearing about other mothers with as much on their plates who still manage to make time and be there for their kids.
Why are you picking on Brooke Burke? Just because she is an open, relatable, and helpful celebrity mom? No need to be rude about her! Along with fame comes a lot of garbage, including your post!
Since the media makes their feelings known about celeb moms that aren't it would only seem fair.
Yes and no.
I think as an object of entertainment, celeb moms should be recognized.
Especially if they've got a great story to tell, like ...they're home-schooling a special needs child.
Now that's something to talk about!

In the case of this story shown above, it sounds like any other super-mom, as well all aspire to be.
And no big whoop.
I know tons of non-celebrity moms who are not hands-on in the way that Brooke Burke is talking about. If I had more money I would be less hands-on as well. I don't subscribe to the idea that taking my kids everywhere, racing from class to class, and spending endless hours in the playground with them makes me a better mom. I do it because it's good for them, but I swear to God, it would be just as good for them if a sitter were taking them from place to place. Watching my son take Tae Kwon Do or my daughter take gymnastics is not quality time. I'd rather spend that time at home getting stuff done so that I'm not being pulled in other directions when they want to spend time with me.
I think people don't see celebrities as real people who have real lives. This really puts it into persepective that we all have things to do, places to go, and children to take care of. I don't think showing that a celebrity mom being hands on, is a special recognition, its just showing people that they are just as normal as us, hands-on does not equal perfect mom either, it just shows that they are real people handling going through real experiences.

I literally lmao when I read this. Not that I totally agree with you because I actually do enjoy watching my kids in their classes but I love your honesty, that is if you are being honest. And I wouldnt think that being less hands on as long as you found other alternatives for quality time..
Ha! If I were going to lie, I would say that I live for my kids and spend every waking moment catering to them, selling my blood weekly to add to their college funds. And that I'm 5'8" and 110lbs, with big tits. :-)
