At what age did you transition your child from a sippy cup to a regular cup? Is there anyone that skipped the sippy cup all together and went straight to a regular cup?
Recently, I took my daughter to a routine wellness check up with her pediatrician and he lectured me about the use of sippy cups- claiming they are just a different form of a bottle.
We skipped the sippy cup entirely! We went for the straw instead. They have these rubber maid plastic containers that are small with straws inside. We used those and from there to the straws built into the cups and then the cups. Nice transition.
My daughter is almost one and can drink out of a bottle, a sippy cup and small amounts of liquid from a regular cup. I've heard that the sippy cup is another form of a bottle too so we're trying to skip the sippy cup altogether. It really is a messy process, but I hope to have drinking soley out of a cup by 16 months or so!
I am currently transitioning my son, 2.5 yrs, from his sippy cup. He drinks well out of a regular cup so I know that it is a good time.
I think it is your choice to use sippy cups. Kids are rough and messy, and starting with a regular cup too early could be a bunch of clean-up fun for you! Also, I am very careful when my son drinks out of a large cup or wide mouthed bottle, just in case he tips it too fast and the beverage goes up his nose.
my little one when coming off the bottle ,he would rather drink from a straw ,he the straw cup for a lnot very long then he went to a small cup . when giving my youngest son a cup i put very little in it so if he spilled any of it would not make a big mess.

I think some are more bottle-like than others but can be a good transition from bottle/breast to regular cup. I don't mind letting DD get messy while she eats but there's a limit, you know? :o)
We've offered the straw type to DD a couple times but she doesn't know what to do with it. Any tips because I'd rather her use that then the sippy she's favoring now.
Well, I would have it (Pregancy test) in a gift bag with other baby items. Or I will have his favorite items (Snacks and candies) and then give it to him after eating his favorite meal.
CONGRATS!! I would leave the pregnancy test somewhere around the house that you know he'll look. Then he'll take it from there. That's what I'll do. lol
