A "friend" of Joe Biden's daughter, Ashley, says she has video of her snorting cocaine at a house party. http://www.momlogic.com/2009/03/ashley_biden.php

What do you think about this? Is it her responsibility to be a role model because Dad is in the public eye?

People in the public eye need to be more cautious about what they are doing and with whom. This is the same as the Michael Phelps scandal - how dumb do you have to be?

She should definitely watch what she is doing. Her dad is VP and alot of young girls will watch her as well as the media. I hope she can realize this before she ruins her life and her Dad's.

Sad, but probably true. I am not sure how adult child behavior reflects on the the VP. We have had lesbian children of politicians, alcoholic family members, drug addicted family members and everything else that millions of families go through. No one says politicians families have to be squeaky clean. Afterall, they didn't run for office.

Michael Phelps is different. He IS the athlete.

You gurlz are surprised? For her father's career at least, she should have used better judgement. She was doing this where a 'friend' could take a video. How dumb is she? He's a career politician. She knew better.

She should be keeping her nose very clean so as to not drawattention to herself in a negative light. As his child, I feel it is a reflection of his parenting.

I think it's harder for kids if they are in the public eye. They get tons of attention and sometimes they have a harder time.

As anyone with kids knows, once they're out of the womb they're their own person; I'm sure everybody has one of those situations where they wish their kids were little direction-following, obedient robots. My kid is only one and I've already had several.

I hope that they can remedy this situation with a little coaching so it won't happen again.

Hey, most of us have done stupid things or made mistakes. How difficult it would be to have a parent in the public eye in such a huge way, and be castigated for something because of being under that microscope...and not by her own choice. I say give the girl a break. Same with Phelps. His foolishness will cost him on his own, same for her in the long run...but the public eye is a harsh one....and her mistake is no more foolish than thousands of other kids, every day...they just don't get the publicity.

But growing up with it your entire life, she should know better than to commit illecit activities where they can be seen by anyone. Maybe it was defiance, but whatever the case, she was dumb and he should feel embarrassed and ashamed for her behaviour.

Her "friends" are much more likely to find a way to bring her down to make a quick buck whether she has done anything or not

Its not her responsibility to be a role model, she didnt choose that role it was chosen for her. Once again a classic example of how the seemingly "perfect" family is marred by reality. We need to be the role models for our children and stop giving the job to people we only assume should do the job.

With god as my witness, I will never eat dirt again! LOVE aunt Pittypat. Here's some trivia - this movie is the only popular Civil War movie without a single battle scene.
