The SpaHouse

What are you planning to do differently this year in order to reach your goals?

We always say we are going to do things differently and start off the month right, then go down hill somewhere in the middle of the year. Are you going to change for 2009? I decided to discipline myself alot more this year, sacrafice things I don't need to do, let go of negativity, and motivate myself to not give up! What will you do differently? What do you what to accomplish this year?

I plan to stay spiritually directed. That is the only thing that gets me through. If I didn't have my bible, I would be lost...lost..
I also plan to set realistic time goals...and put them on a calendar....I know I have it in me to get things done and prosper from them, I just have to do it right and on time!

I too want to leave the negativity behind..but it is easy for us..(I mean you spahouse and me,because we said it),but peopel that come at us with negativity we can't change; we can only change our reaction!
I have a lot I want to accomplish this year..wanna see? LOL
(I wrote this on another network this morning)
One of my goals are to get all of my relationships back on track....
To actually have some big sales this year in the gifts and events business...
To be a servant at the church I decide to join ( I am changing church homes)
To finish this blog book, and finish my poetry book.
To make a residual income that will help me get some bills paid.
To finish my inspirational cd (by FEB!!!)
To get my travel site up and running and get started on obtaining my certification as a REAL travel agent.
To get my application for 501c3 in to the IRS...
To sing again...

I am planning to make more time for ME. Spas, mani/pedi, socializing, time to reflect and work towards a better ME.

I was recently on a radio show called The Classy Closet with host Jen. She had me on as a guest host to chat about it.

Click this link to listen to my answer to this wonderful question!

Here is the link to listen. Please enjoy and I look forward to our new friendship.

I hear you!  When I quit working (due to major back/neck surgeries) I decided I would take some classes and do some things I didn't do when I was a 'stay at home Mommy' of 4. We all know there isn't that much free time when you have 4 little angels to care for as well as a home, and a hubby who doesn't want to be left out!  Now, a few years later, I have not done any of those things really.  Let me first say, I AM A CLEAN A HOLIC! I admit it, I am up doing laundry, straightening, dusting whatever till late at nite sometimes. If I am going to sit and watch a few hours of Tv there are things I can and will do, fold some clothes, catch up on emails, stuff on my laptop etc. and to me it is still sort of relaxing. I am on two Boards at school, the drum line "mom', so there are meetings, concessions work, cookie day, chick fil a day, etc.  My two high school children are in 5 varsity sports combined, so you can imagine between practices and games/tournaments there are weeks when we have only one night of no activities. The daily free time I need to make happen is a must.  So this year, no more cleaning all day and errands for everyone else leaving me w/ no free time. Don't get me wrong my home will still be spectacular (LOL) but less during the day work and more free time for me.  I want to take a cake decorating class, either knitting/crocheting or quilting, maybe a cooking class to learn some new type of meals to make, work on my photo albums, see at least one movie a week, go to a nice lunch place, or park, or Barnes and Nobles and just read for an hour or more (I love to read) and, of course, exercise more regularly.  I am 5'10" / 128 so, actually ok weight or maybe a little under weight by some standards, but I feel so run down when I don't walk, or exercise and eat healthier.  I also want to keep up w/ my ladies Bible study that meets once a week at my church.  So long story short, balance my time, making it more MY time and go out and do those things I want and keep up with all the rest in between and not the other way around.  Like you said, more disciplined, and not feel guilty for putting me first. I am only 45, still active love my family, but need to do things I want, have me time, and delegate out some of the 'stuff' around here.  Everyone else around here seems to be first on their own list, doing things they want to do, so , so can I  !!!  LP

The new year really is a great time to take stock. I feel like I'm riding a wave right now - which at times is exhilarating and other times feels out of control. My plan for 2009 is to focus more on all that is exhilarating and not let the out-of-control moments drag me under (to continue the metaphor).

I am taking my goals 5 minutes at a time. I am posting some of my goals on my blog and inviting others to join with me. If you want to join me, go to www.completeleeblog.blogspot.com Search for the "Enhance Your Life in 5 Minutes" series. (It may not be the top post) During January, I'll share twenty 5 minute goals and offer a chance for a prize for people that report back to me in the comments section letting me know they did that day's task. This gives you some accountability to get it done. Doing goals in small workable chunks should make a decent size difference overall!
