Our son Joseph was with us 8 years this past October. He will be turing 9 in 3 days. We are so very proud of him as he reaches all his accomplishments. He is a hard worker in school and he is in a program for children who learn differently. There are 11 children to 2 teachers. He takes PE, Art, Science, and recess with the other 3 grade classes. He loves sports. His team came in second place this fall for soccer and got a trophy for it.  He has started up with basketball again.

I'm introducing myself. I'm 44, adopted 3 children from Ethiopia 2 years ago. Happy, tired, but it can be done! I'm also the author of The Language of Trees (Avon) which came out this August. I'm here www.ilieruby.com. Look forward to connecting!

Oh, Dena! Hodge podge! LOL! You're never too old... well, maybe within reason, of course! There's no age limit to allowing another child into your heart and home if it's feasible of course.

Thank you, Wendy! Yes, being that she was a foster child first, it works that way. We were trying to just let it all take it's course. We tried to conceive for eight years so we figured we waited that long...

Welcome Melissa and Miracle! Wow she's absolutely adorable and aren't you all lucky that she came directly to you.

Hello, I just wanted to introsuce myself and my daughter, Miracle. She is now six. She came to us as a foster child straight from the hospital at 3 1/2 weeks old with about 24 hours notice. Shocker! Once she came to our home, we knew we were going to adopt her. We were intersted in just adopting the first unattached child regardless of age or sex. She just happened to be the first one. Her adoption was finalized after 18 months of ups and downs between here and the reservation.

All's well that ends well! Good to meet everyone!

Hi Angela and welcome to this group. I'm pretty new too and mostly it seems like we are all just introducing ourselves and explaining our personal adoption situations.
Leah, my daughter adopted from the Philippines 23 years ago; her dad, and I have started a blog where we are sharing our story but also thoughts about things going on now and things we have learned over the years. It's not always been easy despite our love for each other. I note you've adopted your baby from Korea. One of the things we've done recently is watch the movie, "Adopted" (http://www.adoptedthemovie.com) which profiles two families touched by adoption. One family adopted their daughter from Korea many years ago and that story is told from her perspective (adopted in a time when none of us were as smart about it all as we are now!). Anyway, while watching that movie, my daughter and I shared thoughts over msn and I have summarized that text on our blog http://www.adoptionunplugged.com.

Hello! I am new to this group and to Momlogic...followed JackieMacD's tweets here...(Thanks!! )

My hubby and I are new parents -- just adopted a precious 10 month old baby boy, Isaac, from Seoul S. Korea. We live in the far NW 'burbs outside Chicago. Isaac has been home just 2 weeks now, and we are all adjusting very well, and enjoying our new family life. Every day this little guy amazes me with his exhuberance, wonder, curiosity and energy! :-) We feel SO very blessed.
Hoping to chat with other adoptive moms online and compare notes, give/receive support, make some friends!
