Joy Brown Comment by Joy Brown on September 3, 2009 at 11:07am
Hi I just joined. My first book was published in July. It is called My Face to the World. From the description on Amazon..."Product Description
My Face to the World is the often introspective story of a young mother's journey through the discovery and treatment of breast cancer. It is told in a very personal way as to draw in the reader to the true feelings of what it is like to be told such devastating news, what it is like to have to tell your family and friends, what it is like to go through the often rough treatments and what it is like to try to always hold onto hope and faith that in the end it will all work out."
I am looking for advice, etc....we do have a book store in town. How do I go about setting up a book signing?
oh and here is the link to my book..

Help! I just got finished talking to Borders about our book signing. They get 40% and we get 60% only problem is we paid $5.99 for our books and it cost $9.95 that means we will be in the hole 2 cents per book. I know I am new to this but aren't we to make somehing out of this venture. What am I doing wrong? Please help I will listen to any one that can help me figure this out.
We did this to raise money to save my daughter. She is very sick and we had hired a bilder to build a home for us that was latex free. So she would not die he took off with the money all $250,000. I don't want to lose more money instead of making any. Got any ideas on how to get the book to make a dime.

Anyone attending ICRS? I've been working day and night to get ready. We are taking almost 30 WinePress authors and have lots of great things going on during the week.

To Sandra Kay - kudos & claps for your new book Montanaswind. Now the hard work begins of publicity and promotion. You may already know this, but there are some book promotion basics here at http://foremostpress.com/authors/articles/promotion.html. It's an article I wrote many years ago and I still use some of these methods for promoting my latest releases A Scrapbook of Christmas Firsts (Leafwood) and The Birth to Five Book (Revell). Best wishes.

Hi and welcome Newbies...My books are all numerology based 'cause for almost 40 years, I've never been bored researching, Do a daily Blog on my web site instead of my journal - got bored doing that. ASJA is a great professional org. Their Spring Convention is in NYC is filled with good seminars on all types of publishing and literary agents and editors participate. It's worth attending for many reasons.
