New England has a spectacular geologic history of colliding continents, erupting volcanoes, and roaming dinosaurs. Charles Ferguson Barker, geologist and author of the children’s book Under New England: The Story of New England's Rocks & Fossils, will introduce young explorers to the rich geological landscape of the region. Free with museum admission.
Urban Birds Day and Pixie Sticks Concert

Explore the garden and learn about urban birds through games, activities and bird-related art. The Pixie Sticks band will offer interactive bird and animal songs. Frog Pond Carousel

The Boston Common Frog Pond and the Boston Parks and Recreation Department are pleased to announce the arrival of the Americana Carousel at the Frog Pond this season. Ride the gorgeous carousel with 20 horses and animals, including a frog and a tea cup! Rides are just $3 and run daily (weather permitting) from 11am-9pm.
Clown Town in the Park - Andover
Location: Corner of Bartlet & Chestnut Street, Andover, MA
Date: Friday, May 16, 6 to 10 p.m.
Saturday, May 17, 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Ages: Toddlers, Teens, Adults

Cost: Fundraiser event
Andover's spring event features carnival rides, games, face painting, candy, balloons, a variety of food. Clown Town is the biggest fundraiser for the Andona society, with profits allocated to a variety of youth and education programs in town.

Come celebrate spring outdoors on the beautiful Bishop field and playground. Rain date is May 17th.

That sounds like fun! We have never been to the Esplanade (I think), and I've always wanted to go.
My daughter has her first ballet recital tomorrow at noon, but I will surely pass this on to other local moms I know!
