Meet Group Leaders Christine and Sandy!
Christine Koh is a music and brain scientist turned writer, editor, and designer. She spent a decade in academia and was about to become a professor when she decided to hang up her academic spurs in favor of more flexible and creative ventures. Christine is the founder and editor of Boston Mamas, a stylish resource portal for families in Boston and beyond, and is the self-taught designer behind Posh Peacock. Christine also is a freelance writer and editor and recently started a third blog – Pop Discourse – where she gives voice to her fascination with pop culture, the intellectually interesting or absurd, Boston life, and parenthood. She lives in the Boston area with her husband and 4-year-old daughter. Christine tweets at @bostonmamas.
Sandy Lee is a self-proclaimed typical career mom turned work-at-home, turned stay-at-home. For years she worked as a traveling neonatal nurse; moving, holding patients and especially her bladder for endless stretches of time. Now she's finally unpacked my bags in Boston, and occasionally uses her stethoscope to plug her ears as a stay-at-home mom. Tune in to her daily episodic nonsense at Momisodes.com. You may laugh. My daughter has never seen this movie. She does acting and has been dying to see this! I would love to give it to her for Christmas.
I need a new scent quick! Who doesn't want to feel pretty!
We try to do board games and crafts if possible along with some kind of cooking project when they can "help".
Here moms can speak openly about life with a child with special needs. Whether it's delays, diseases or disabilities, this is the place for mom support.
It was a scary experience because they look so fragile. But they really are tough!
