Before You Start You Weekend, Seek The Lord, You'll Enjoy It Much More!

“Where the mind goes, the man follows”

This statement is very true, The things of this world tends to keep us distracted from having peace within us. Our minds are going 100 miles per hr with tons of thoughts that only gives us stress and anxiety. It might be work, money issues, family, house chores, or simply things that need to be done. I just finished moving into my new apartment with my son and even though I’ve moved many time over the years, I always find myself being overwhelmed with all the things I need to take care of. Last week I found myself being short tempered and just emotional, I was asking myself “why was I feeling this way?” my son and I have a new apartment, which means a new beginning for us, a fresh start. I couldn’t enjoy it because I was so caught up on everything that I needed to take care of, the cleaning, the packing, The Money. I felt as though I was sinking into depression once again, then it dawned on me… I HAVE’NT BEEN SEEKING THE LORD!!!

I basically opened the doors for the devil to come right in and steal my Happiness and My Peace, the two things that I work so hard to earn, and I let him take that from me! After realizing what I was doing, I realized what I Wasn’t doing and that’s making sure God was a part of my everyday life. I didn’t pray every time I felt overwhelmed, I wasn’t reading The Word, and I skipped Bible study, which are all WORNG things to do when you have allot going on. Needless to say I’ve gone back to my routine, I talk to the Lord at every chance I get, I make it a point to read uplifting emails and listen to worship. I NEED That (WE NEED THAT) To maintain our peace and the happiness that we’ve worked so hard for. Once you start to feel as though you’re getting drained, resist the enemy and ask the Lord to build you up and fill you with His Sprit. Don’t become distant to him, DON’T let the devil get the best of you and steal what is rightfully yours! Make time for the Lord and Seek Him Every day.

Remember That God doesn’t go on vacation he is here for us All The Time.

ENJOY & HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!

I know what you mean about the struggle to resist the enemy. Whenever negative, unproductive thoughts threaten to steal my daughters' joy, I remind them: "You decide what you let inside." According to the apostle Paul, the thoughts we are to let inside are "thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable." (Phillippians 4:8b) When we fill our minds with God's word and these good thoughts, peace is sure to follow.

My favorite local museum is the Train Museum in Old Sacramento, CA. My oldest daughter and I love walking through there and both of us are just amazed at the enormous size of some of the trains!

I honestly do not like the war scenes but it definitely is a classic. And other posters are right. Carol Burnett is all I can think about when I see the curtain scene
