Real Stories. Real Advice. Real Moms.

Had any AHA moments lately? If so, please share your latest revelation or mind blowing realization!

Just recently, God revealed to me that I was grieving. GRIEVING, who ME! Who died? No stupid...over a lose in your life, something that you felt was taken/stolen from me. something you had absolutely no control over! He made it known to me, that I have no control over the bad choices other people have made in my past (that affected me in a painful way) and may make in my future. And no amount of mourning or grief will ever change that! Its gone and I can't get it back but He can replace and give me double for my trouble, if I just let it go, "stop kicking a die horse" I don't have to ride off into the sunset, I can run ahead into my joy filled future, leaving the grief of the past loses behind me!

RIP (Rest in Peace)...Free from the past!,
Cynthia

"They reward me evil for good to my personal bereavement." Psalm 35:1

"As a man was being buried, such a band was seen coming, and the man was cast into Elisha's grave. And when the man being let down touched the bones of Elisha, he revived and stood on his feet." 2 Kings 13:21

I have learned this same thing! I find that it's a process of letting go, because afterall all those memories are still store in your mind and they like to creep out once in a while. Or the feelings are brought out again when you have to deal with someone that has caused the grief to begin with.

It's also something I've tried to share with my MIL but she refuses to forgive, let go, and move on. Holding onto all of the pain, anger, and hatred is taking a toll on her life. Instead of being all she could be, as a mother, grandmother and MIL, her actions and outlook on life are pushing everyone away. :(

Some folks just never get it...see the light that is! Thank God for revelation!

I don't think she will ever get it. It's too easy for her to sit in the "dark" feeling sorry for herself and expecting everyone else to stay in contact with her and if we don't she likes to play her "no one cares about me" card.

I'm doing the best I can to deal with it but I've been doing it for 15 years and I'm wearing down, if you know what I mean. My girls are to the point they don't even care if they see or talk to her any more and this is the only grandmother they have.

This is a hard situation and things may be happening that are not being realized yet. I have heard stories where things happen to people that change them but it took their whole lifetime, and just remember that God's schedule is not ours. Trust me, I need to be told this every day, it is just a really good thing we all need to remember. I will pray for her and I hope things get better, but for now you can only be a light in her world and especially for your daughters. Good luck, and take care(:

As for me, I wish that I knew just what to say, I have had so many revelations. But I will definitely come back to here again, I have new ones, and re-have old ones (as we need constant reminding) quite often(:

My favorite local museum is the Train Museum in Old Sacramento, CA. My oldest daughter and I love walking through there and both of us are just amazed at the enormous size of some of the trains!

I honestly do not like the war scenes but it definitely is a classic. And other posters are right. Carol Burnett is all I can think about when I see the curtain scene
