I'm at the Grandma stage in life and helping my daughters potty train their little ones. Each child is different. Some may be ready at 18 months (rare) and others at closer to three--watch for the signs of wanting to use the potty. With my grand daughter they were taking her on a schedule, using rewards etc but I could tell she just was not ready--mentally or physcially. So I encouraged my daughter to stop for awhile. After two months, Eppie started talking about using the potty, and within a couple of weeks was going on her own. She is almost 2 1/2.
