When Does School Start For You?

We started Monday. I have a sixth grader and a first grader.

I was ready and not ready, if that makes sense. My babies are getting too big! I also wasn't ready for the 5:30 a.m. alarm either. My oldest has to be at the bus stop at 6:30 a.m. That's just too early especially since it's not in front of our house, but at least it's where I can see her from our house.

Morning:) We homeschool some of our children, but not all. I planned to begin school next week, but my husband (who had been out of work since before Christmas--yes, that was horrid) Just got a great job! So, instead of plodding along, I am rushing around trying to find a new home in a new state. So, off to learn the Homeschool laws for a new state, and to enroll my other ones. I did hear, though, that High school starts in our new town at 7:20! That just seems mean for 9th graders!! My baby is 4, so I get to do all the fun stuff with beginning to read, etc. I think she'll start school after my coffee, etc at 9:00!

Heather - wow! A new state - that's exciting! Will you be far from where you live now? And I definitely agree about coffee before starting! LOL

Winnie - how fun! The first day of preschool is such a big step. How did he do?

We homeschool and plan to start the beginning of September. :) I'm excited. My little man is starting kindergarten this year - they grow up way too fast.

I'm way on the other side of the school issue. My husband is back in school and it starts August 21. School loans. Books that cost $150 each. Lots of night school and textbooks. Am I the only one?

Most schools in our area started last Thursday but my little man will start this Thursday, the 20th. He will be in a new school this year. We've recently moved into a home that is in a different district. Ethan has cerebal palsy and the bus drivers for the special needs kiddos have just returned to work today so I'm anxiously awaiting the phone call to let me know for sure they are able to get the bus into the addition (our house is not going to be easy for the bus to get to) and to know what time they want to pick him up. Hopefully, not too early! Oh, btw Ethan will be 16 next month but is going into the 9th grade...I'm still trying to wrap my head around the fact that he is going to be that old already...lol

FYI--Hey, I picked up the Sept. issue of Family Circle--not sure what caught my eye--but it has a big section on preparing for school with some pretty good articles.
