Real Stories. Real Advice. Real Moms.

Hey ladies, It's Saturday and this is my accountability to you. Did I meet my goals? I didn't gain, but I didn't lose either. I remained on a healthy eating plan about 90%. I didn't exercise, but was advised not to for a week after a brief but scary suspected TIA incident (mini-stroke) on Sunday night. I'm full-blown into tests right now to try to find out what happened or if it was a TIA. So far my tests are excellent. Yay!
My goals for next week is to get back into exercise and to lose 1 pound by Friday eating healthy and exercising at least four of the next seven days.

Monday is my day for weigh-in and accountability. Last week maintained and didn't lose any.

My goals for this week include:
5 morning workouts
64 oz. of water
100% commitment to recording in my food diary

With all of this, my target is to lose 1 pound this week.

I'm so glad you all did well this past week! Congrats!!

Hmmm....i guess my entry for this weeks accountability is:

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA (pause for a breath)....

hahahahahahahaha

I don't know how much I gained, but I was horrible! I'm just gonna put it behind me (it's already there in all actuality) and begin anew this week!

My goals are:
1. at least 6 glasses of water a day
2. keep a food diary
3. work out at least twice in the school gym, and walk with kids at least twice
4. get adequate rest every night!

Beginning today

Goals for the next 21 days.
1. No sugar.
2. Eat three healthy meals each day. Won't skimp on veggies, nuts, fruits, beans, water, whole grain, etc.
3. Will exercise at least one hour for five days a week. Will raise heart rate.

I put a note on the fridge with a number that I plan to lose -- not in three weeks, but in a reasonable time frame. Every time I lose a pound I will celebrate that achievement by crossing off the old number and putting the new below so that I can mark progress. When I reach this goal, I will reward myself with a small but treasured luxury, whether a new book or a new pair of shoes or a night at the movies.

I'm serious now. No more talking about it for Suz. : )

I have to say I have been awful! I know I've gained close to 10 pounds in the last month or so. I am going to get back to the gym, and at least do cardio 5 days a week for about 45 increments. I also will drink at least 6 glasses of water daily. I will also eat veggies, fruits, and cut out the sweets!

OK, I just found out that I am going to be featured in the March 2009 edition of O, the Oprah Magazine....
as a fat person!!!

So, now that I am "coming out" as "fat" for the first time EVER, I need some accountability to reverse the past 5 mommy years of weight gain.

Here it is:
I will do 7 minutes of exercise alternating fast and slow at 30 second intervals every moring before noon. (This will keep my body alkaline so I can continue to burn fat and not plateau) (I know this sounds trivial time-wise, but it is practical in my life and way better than nothing!)
I will limit sweets to one small treat a day beginning after the New Year. (Tonight is free reign!)
I will make sure I get a MINIMUM of 5 fruits and veggies a day.
On January 17th I will start the metabolic boot camp and hope to report a healthy weight by mid February!

Thanks for this!!

Well, I had to take my daughter to the ER the other night and am just getting into the swing of things. Fortunately, I made it to the gym this morning. (First time in WEEKS!). Unfortunately, my husband had been so sick and when I returned he was on his way to (YUCK!) Burger King and begged me to join him. So, I ate BK on my first day of working out! Oh well, there is tomorrow...

Today was the first day that I rolled out of bed that I looked forward to exercising. : ) That's a huge step.

Okay, I finally started doing something right. I've been back to a vegetarian diet and eating healthy for the past week straight. No soda, tons of water, etc. I haven't been able to workout because I've been sick but I plan to start Monday at the school gym. :)

I hope we really do this weekly accountabilty thing because it would be encouraging.

God bless,
Desi

I've lost three pounds in three weeks. Slow, I know, but it's three pounds. I'm working out five days a week on the treadmill and weights. Watching intake. Healthy only. My husband has lost five pounds. Today I hoped for bigger numbers, but I have made a promise to myself not to focus on numbers, but fitting in my clothes and being healthy.

Keep up the great work and stay tough!

I guess it's time I put in some input and be accountable as well. I finally got my eating in shape last week and actually weighed in a week ago last Monday and last Monday. We have started a "Biggest Loser" contest at work and that is when we weigh in. But I was going to do this anyway. The contest just got me going. I haven't had any pop in over a month and I have cut my caffeine intake way down. Other than that I am eating a lot of salads and making myself quit eating a ton of food at a time. During this last week I lost 10 1/2 pounds. I guess that's a good thing about having a lot to lose. I lose a whole lot really fast but then (I am guessing) that I will slow down when I get closer to my goal. I also am drinking a lot more water. I will check in again next week.
