It would settle so much if it were possible to legally obtain a sample of George's (and Lee's) DNA. I'm certain it's one or the other. But I also understand (and have directly experienced) the blinding power of denial so I am not confident at all that even in a trial setting that the truth 'would out.'

By incest, I was referring to Lee and tot mom. I'm not sure about George possibly being Caylee's father, however. Or maybe I don't want to think about that level of dysfunctionality in one family. *g* I think I prefer to think George's attempt was a cry for help, ie the text messages. I think it may have hit him that he's raised a child who could kill another person. What a horrible, sad position in which he finds himself. I really hope that's the extent of his involvement, but it will probably come out at trial. I'm not sure a family member being the father of Caylee could be kept under wraps.

I've considered the incest angle as well. Seems odd that Lee addressed his comments at the Caylee Memorial yesterday to CMA and then promised to never forget some promise he made to her. Leonard Padilla stated on NG last night that CMA was the tot mom. My question would be, if Lee is, indeed the father, would the prosecutors not know this by now? I also thought it odd that Cindy mentioned she had "three children".

I think Lisa's analysis is 'all over it.'

I have said from the beginning, since Caylee was reported missing...Where is the child's father? Why isn't he a suspect in her disappearance? And then after her remains were discovered I wondered...Hey, did they ever release the name of Caylee's Father?...NO!..NO? What? Why not? Who is this guy? Are we sure it is who Casey claims it was? It was then that I started to seriously consider that Caylee was a product of incest. I agree with most posters in that the most likely candidate for Caylee's Father is indeed Casey's father. It explains why Cindy & Casey had sure a turmoltuous relationship as well as why Cindy acted as though Caylee were her own child instead of her Granddaughter. Also George's recent Suicidal Tendencies. I think he realized that Casey is going to "out" him as a sexual abuser in court. Also, it is far more likely that George had been abusing Casey and possible Lee as well. If that were the case it would be more likely that Casey & Lee would enter into a sexual relationship. Thier boundaries were weakened or destroyed by George. If incest is already occurring in the home it is a smaller step for the siblings to become sexually active together.
This theory also would explain why Casey would do such a thing to her own child. She obviously has pretty severe mental issues as well as a total lack of respect for her parents. She may have feared that George would indeed start to molest/rape Caylee and may have erroneously decided that death would be prefferable. She may have even caught George molesting/raping Caylee. If you really think about what it would be like to be made to give birth to your own father's child, you can image the torrment she felt, but also that she may have been torn between truely loving her child and wanting to be rid of her at the same time.

My comments in regards to the Anthony Family are just that -- comments but perhaps also something to think about. I see all of them as victims of extremely dysfunctional family roots. Abuse is most often a behavior that is passed on from one generation to another and the damage that is done is incomprehensible, but the combination of the parents and the two siblings in this family were enough to result in Caylee's death! How very sad and tragic for all of them! I'm certainly not saying that because someone is a victim they aren't responsible -- it doesn't work that way but I hope we learn enough from this tragedy, or that it becomes more of a wake up call for other people that are or have been victims of incest. Casey may have been a beautiful and innocent child that would never have become the angry, pathological liar with a narcissistic personality had she not been abused. Again, this isn't an excuse but I'm certainly not passing judgment on anyone -- that's something a jury will have to do. Instead, my heart grieves for Caylee's suffering and her tragic death and all the other children that are suffering from abuse. There just has to be more help and solutions to an ever growing epidemic of violence. I am a survivor of domestic violence and childhood sexual abuse so I know how important healing is especially as a mother. I also have a daughter who is now a single mom. She has a 15 month old daughter, Caelyn, and without a supportive family she could never raise this baby on her own.

I believe that incest was indeed at the heart of Caylee's death, but I don't think the brother was at the heart of it. That doesn't explain the incredibly vitriolic rage of the mother. The things she is reported to have said to Casey in front of other people is the language of a mother who is not only filled with rage, but it is the rage of betrayal. I agree that the lying and the denial all fit the profile of a family in the throes of incest, but that level of hate and anger more likely results from knowledge that her own husband abused their daughter, and probably did so when Casey was much younger. As Casey got older, because of this experience at a young age (which undoubtedly did not occur just once), I think it is likely that she did initiate sex with her brother. However, the idea that "kids will be kids," that brothers and sisters left to their own devices will just 'naturally' want to have sex with one another, is complete bunk. It's really just another form of denial. One of the reasons why so much sexual abuse goes on in families regardless of economic class is because of this type of denial--either by a society as a whole, or by the victims and the perpetrators.

I have been following this case closely and reading anything and everything and it does appear that the family knows a lot more than they are saying. I believe that the truth will ultimately come out and I think that it will shock so many how involved this family is. There is way too much flip flopping with this family and what they say in one interview and then you wait awhile and there is yet something totally contadicting what they said in another.

The family is just as unfit as Casey no one has bothered to give Caley at least a memorial.
You dont need the bones for that , but the missing Caley teeshirts are still for sale.

I think the local police department will cover it up if d.n.a. proves Lee is Caley father.
Because this would be a motive for the crime and her father is ex law enforcement.

They cant say they do not have enough d.n.a. to see who the father is, but that will be the excuse.

George is ex law enforcement they have been shown alot of favortism allready.

Regular people off the street would have been arrested for removing items from crime scene and washing it , giving wrong hair brush to f.b.i. agents and lets not forget the famous half truths.
