i am both a dil and an mil. younger than my mil by a mere 18 years and older than my dil by 26. i am truly the middle generation although as i was heavily influenced by the 60's am more inclined toward jeans than knits though never to worship but sometimes to the theatre.:)

I am older than my daughter-in-law by 23 years. She has an excellent taste, and I love the way she dresses. At the same time, I would not dare to ware what she wears. I think that the prevailing attitude is towards a more casual attire, jeans, jeans, jeans... even in church and symphony hall. I do not see myself, or my girl friends dressing down when we leave the house. My DIL provides a bridge into what's in today. Yes, there is a generational gap, but it is only natural.
