Hello even though I'm not divorced I am friends of divorced and am a child of divorced parents. I hope that It is ok I'm joining here I'd like to learn as much as I can maybe to help myself understand still the on going hate in my mother and well I just would like to talk to someone on how it affected me as a child I'm still trying to understand the affect on me.

I was divorced 8 years ago. It was not an easy divorce but I learned a tremendous amount in the process. As a clinical psychologist and facilitator of "Divorcing Parent Programs" mandated by the state I have lots of resources and plenty of personal experience to share. Divorce is harder than death for most people and not something people ought go through alone.

I am the parent that always held the celebrations throughout the kids lives. I always invited my ex-husband. I felt its not for me it for the kids and its important to them.
They will have one Mother and one Father,sometimes family members will be added and its a good thing.
The one rule you should follow is ,Do Not allow the kids to play off each parent. No one wins . I love the Mrs Doubtfire movie because what was said at the end , We're still a family with a really big backyard. So true.

Hi, I am a single mother... I left my drug addicted husband when my son was 6 months old. was over 100 000$ in debt and no job.
I went from the lowest point in my life to
finding a job, owning my own business and becoming a multi millionaire.
I now desire to share this with divorced mothers...
I have come up with a system of tools / program that I used and that worked for me.
do you know anyone who might learn / could use something like that ?

Try to do things peacefully, especially if you have children. You are joined at the hip forever when you have kids. You have to remember to love you kids more than you hate each other. There will be birthdays, holidays, graduations, marrigages & births and it is much easier to be able to share in the joy of these events than to waste your time on hate.

He tried to serve me with divorce papers last Wednesday. My friends said how can anybody do before the holidays,at least wait till after the 1st of the year. I'm trying to keep my spirits up for when my son & family coming over, They don't know he tried to serve me with papers and I didn't sign his paper saying I'm going to get my own lawyer.
