One of my funny mom stories just happened this week. We were all at the store - my husband and myself and our 3 children. I was looking for our favorite chips and couldnt find it. Well, my middle daughter popped off real loud - Oh no they didnt move mamas chips - we all started laughing so hard. It was pure attitude and came out of nowhere. And of course the aisle was full.
Gotta love that girl
My funniest mom moment was when my son played little league baseball and because of his size they moved him to the next age group and at 7 yrs old he could really hit the ball. He hit a foul ball over the backstop and came within inches of hitting a windshield well the car was moved around the parking lot and he hit the ball and it went over the fence and right through the same cars windshield obviously the lady was mad but cracked up laughing after my son came to the dugout and said to her next time can you bring better snacks (she brought carrots and celery) she said if he hit it again she would buy pizza so he did just that. the lady said what a well behaved boy he does what he id asked to do. all was ok
I'm a pretty new mom, with an 8 month old baby boy. My funniest moment happened when he was about 2 months old. He had a huge messy diaper that leaked up his back and was all over his onesie. I didn't know how to get his outfit off without getting poop all over his head and the rest of his body. So I got the scissors...and cut the onesie off. Into the trash it went! As a brand new mom, I didn't have the time or the energy to think of any alternative!
Why are the funniest Mom momemts always the most embarassing? Mine was one Saturday we were at my son's little league game when I had to use the rest room, a port a potty. When I was finished, I was pulling up my pants when the car keys fell in the hole. Well. we had to borrow a neighbors car to go and get the other set of keys and my son just wanted to crawl under a rock out of embarassment.
Got to say when I was sitting on a black couch with my son in just his diaper -- he let one go and there was orange POOP everywhere on the couch!!! Thank goodness it was my own couch!!
My son came home from camp, aghast that "all the kids in my cabin were saying the 'c' word!" I was thinking OMG - 10-14 year old boys at a Christian camp are saying THAT word? I finally got out of him what the "bad" word was - it was "Crap!" LOL
Heres another one..........I over heard my 6 year old son Christian and 9 year old daughter Karly talking and the conversation went like this, "Hey Karly, Where did I come from when I was born?" Karly-"Well, (she snickers) mommy said that her tummy hurt really bad and ran to the bathroom. When she sat down, mommy said, "Oh, NOOOO!" and there you were floating in the potty!!!" Karly began to giggle while Christian sat and thought hard with a look of concern on his face..... then Christian smiles, moved his head in a circular motion and said, "Did I go WHEEEEEE when she flushed the potty?!?" It was so hilarious!!! Kids do say the darndest things!!!
When my daughter Jillian was approx 2 1/2 yrs old and Mike-approx 6(at school),our then neighbor had asked me to watch her daughter Kelly(a month older than Jill) for a while. Jill had LONG blonde hair and BIG BLUE eyes, Kelly really didnt have any hair at all YET and had the habit of pulling Jillls hair! Kelly had been told over and over NOT, TO PULL JILL's Hair, it was a daily occurance, at either home. On this day, Kelly had already been told to stop pulling Jills hair at least 4 times, I was on the phone in the kitchen, the cord stretched into the livingroom, the fourth repremand had just been given, then, while my back was turned, Kelly decided to go for pull #5... I heard Jill say NO NO KELLY! as I turned around Jillian had balled up her little fist and coldcocked Kelly on the side of the head and down she went! I was at a TOTAL LOSS!! I WAS TORN BETWEEN LAUGHING AT THE SITUATION AND SCOLDING JILLIAN FOR HITTING KELLY?? WHAT TO DO, Holding in the laugh, I checked to make sure Kelly was ok , told Jill not to hit Kelly any more and Kelly not to pull Jills hair and went on with the DAY!!
TO MOVE UP IN YRS- COACHING JILL'S 12-14 Cheersquad, I also had to coach the 10-12 girls, as I put them through their warm ups, stretches and exercises, I then moved on to cartwheels, roundoffs etc. Demonstrating and pointing out there are NO I CANTS in CHEERLEADING and if I COULD STILL Do the splits, cartwheels etc, they could and would learn and successfully be able to complete them. As I was backing up so the girls could go through their rountines across the field, I didnt realize they had dug a 4 ft ditch and had 2 wood poles sticking out of the ground heading down toward the football field slightly covered w/a tarp. I REALIZED THIS WHEN MY BUTT was in the HOLE and I'd successfully scraped deep holes down my back!! Nice embarrassing and HURTING moment for MOM/COACH CAROL
Gosh, it's so hard for me to think of something specific. Probably one of those embarrassing moments in public bathrooms where my LOUD and unhelpful toddlers always have to point out that the person in the other stall is either stinky or pooping. I honestly avoid public bathrooms at all costs now. I'll wait til I get home. Yikes!
