I have very fair skin. Most tanning stories are horror stories for me. Fake tanning lotion always makes me look like a carrot, my palms orange no matter how careful I am. This would be a godsend!

For whatever reason I didn't cover my face properly with self tanner. Half was orange and half was white!

Went to show my muscle from my new work out program and I forgot to rub in the self tanner well enough and had streaks all over the inside of my arm....EEK! Lucky I can laugh at myself!

I'm fairer tah Lindsey Lohan...so this self tanner is a must have for me.

It's hard for me to tan since I am so light complected. Tanning beds do well, but I hate paying for them. So once I bought the self tanning lotion. What a nightmare. I was orange and dark orange in some places and nothing in others. I couldn't wait to get that worn or scubbed off.

I applied self tanner before visiting disney world on vacation during the summer. It was hot and I started sweating and ended up with orange and white stripes all over! I looked like Tony the tiger but I thought "Oh well, I'm on vacation and nobody here knows me anyway!" I still enjoyed my vacation but I don't want to go through that again!

I am zombie white, very very fair. So before my wedding I thought I should get a little glow so I didn't look corpse white against a white wedding gown. Thankfully I decided to test this out a month before and quickly realized I don't tan I just bur, I can't even imagine if it had been a few days before the wedding, that would have been awful.

When I was 16 I decided to try a self-tanner for the first time! Let me tell you, I have light skin and had no experience and the very next day was picture day at school!!! Of course, I wanted beautiful glowing tan skin to go along with my new hair do and new spring outfit but the next morning I awoke to find I had turned into a spotted cheetah with dark orange hands! I wanted to pull the covers over my head and play sick. And to make matters worse I read the tanning bottle and it said "results last for 7-10 days." Ahhhh! I was made fun of all week long! Thank goodness for picture re-takes!!

When I was in my teens I used to use a tanning bed, until they came out with the Mystic Tan. I was 19 and my cousin was getting married, and asked me to be one of her bridesmaids. I was so excited, her wedding was beach themed, and she picked out these white cotton dresses for us. I got the brilliant (or not so brilliant) idea to go get a mystic tan. It was my first, so I knew nothing of what was going to go on. I got there, and the lady gave me a booth and said she'd be there if I had any questions. I had my eyes closed and the first spray scared the heck out of me, from there I completely forgot to do the pose. I thought I was going to die in there lol. I must of had my arms the wrong way, because my fingers were completely white, along with the side of my arms, and the underarm area. Two days after, I thought I could apply self tanner to those white spots, I didn't see any harm. Those spots came out way orange, and in the wedding photos it looks just ridiculous lol.

When I was 16 I went to the Ocean for the first time with my friends for Memorial weekend. It was a ton of us, guys and girls from school, a couple of rooms at the same motel for a party weekend. We got on the beach Saturday at about nine a.m. in the morning to get some sun, I had never been to the beach with anyone accept my brothers before and I was very shy and selfconscious. I was wearing a bikini for the first time and there were guys hanging around that I knew from school that had only seen me in my street clothes. I laid on my towel and refused to get up all day, even to go to the bath room. I laid there all day waiting for them to leave, I was scared to get up and let them see how fat I was, at least I thought I was. It was the first time I had been in the sun and I'm very light skin. I don't remember having any tanning stuff except we had some sort of baby oil. When the sun finally started going down and there were no more guys around I wrapped my towel around me and headed for my room to take a shower. All the other girls were almost done with their showers and wanted to know what took me so long. I said I had fallen asleep. They told me to look in the mirror. I was red, like a lobster. I took my shower and started to faint but then thought I was ok. The next thing I remember was laying on the bed with a doctor standing over me. I had one of the worst cases of sun poison he had ever seen. lol He gave me some sort of stuff to put on but it didn't help much. The rest of the weekend I couldn't move, walk or get out of bed I was so sick. There was another friend who also got burned and ended up in the room with me. We had taken Trailways down to the beach and when we got home my parents were so mad they refused to come get me, even though I told them on the pay phone that I couldn't walk. They told me if I were that stupid I deserved to be in pain. I walked almost two miles home and I was in tears. My legs were so burned they wouldn't bend, I was carrying a suitcase and it didn't have wheels. What a long walk, and I had school the next day and they made me go. After that I always took a cover up and lotion with me eveywhere or any time I was going to be in the sun. I can't believe that was almost forty years ago.

I am pasty white. And I don't mean normal people white, I mean natural redhead white. Trust me, there is a difference between normal people white and redhead white. The powers that be have decided that pretty much all natural redheads should be day-glow. Heck, if we try to tan we burn, then peel to a whiter shade of white. If we try and fake n bake we turn orange to match our hair. There is just no winning! If you see a redhead with a tan it means they are not a natural redhead, or they have spent so much time in the sun their freckles have morphed into something resembling a tan. I guarantee if you look closely you will see the white peeking through.

I remember my first experience with over the counter sunless tanner. I tried it on my legs and within a few minutes I was orange. Seriously, Lindsay Lohan had NOTHING on me! This is tanner that claimed to be "light" and for "fair" completions. Lies I tell you, LIES. By the time i realized what was happening it was too late, the damage was done. I was stuck with dark orange legs for a week or so. Good news is I had nowhere to go so I decided to rock the jeans in July look. Unfortunately that is when I got the call. My best friend decided to move her birthday party to the local water park.

I couldn't get out of it so picture a natural redhead, with dark orange legs and day-glow white everything else. Boy did I get some strange looks!

i'm german & irish so it's basically IMPOSSIBLE for me to get a normal tan from the sun. i'm white, i burn badly, then i peel and turn white again. its awful.
a couple years ago i tried self-tanning lotion for the first time, but i didn't realize that you had to wash your hands afterwards (DUH!!!). so i had organge in between the fingers ,on my palms -SO embarrassing ! i hated the weird smell of the lotion and had streaks everywhere. it was a disaster !
