Tell us how you "go green" in your family and you'll be entered to WIN during our Mom's Nite Out event, Thursday May 7, 2009 from 6-midnight ET. We'll announce our WINNERS at 10:30pm ET.
We are really trying to go green. We recycle, use the new bulbs, turn off lights when not in use, use dishwasher at night, try not to use washer/dryer until we have full load, use low flush toilets (I think that's what they're called) and re-use our shredded paper for mailing things as cushioning material..
We have removed excess bulbs, We also see that we dont waste much- like 3 R's Reduce,Recycle and Reuse.
We give pref to recyled items when we shop..and use it circulating within our family and friends.
We switched all our lightbulbs to the CFL lightbulbs, also when brushing our teeth, we make sure to turn off the tap. We re-print on the backsides of paper to get the full use of one sheet, and instead of driving to the train station where I commute to work, I purchased a small foot propelled scooter, so now not only am I not driving but I am also getting a mini workout in before and after work
I am moving this month so I am going to take all the little tips I can to start going green...my daughter is very into "going green" so she is going to be my helper
We are going to switch to cfl's
we are going to recycle
we are going to turn out lights when not in the room
my daughter wants to do a compost (still thinking about that one!)
any new appliances I buy for the new house will be energy star!
We recycle quite a bit now. Our Trash bin is not so full anymore! We are using compact fl lightbulbs, combining our errands to use less gas, turning the thermostat down in winter & up in summer, buying more "green" products.
