My 5yr old is a BIG recycler! He uses anything cardboard for building supplies, and when he is done and it is demolished he goes out on the porch and puts it in the bin. When the bin gets full we sort it into things that go to the recycling center and bits we keep to use as tinder in the outdoor fireplace in the summer (IE plain cardboard w/out dye) and we take it down to the center and he proudly carries the box (w/ help) to the site manager who always tells him what a good job he is doing. It makes him feel proud!

My nine year old saves and reuses everything, her most recent venture was to take all the products that contained peanut butter and feed them to the little wild animals
around our lakes, now I'm concerned she might have made them sick. Any thoughts?

using products from home is great but a lot of people just won't take the time, I found a great wellness company and I changed my whole house over, I love these products, my laundry smells so good now! They also use vinegar in their glass cleaner, but they have a great ingredient that enhances the vinegar to work even better, plus the great thing it masks the smell of the vinegar! I use it and it cleans the windows better than anything I've ever used, even vinegar, due to the product that enhances it to super power it! I have used vinegar too but I don't think I got the right ratio as it didn't really work for me. I do use baking soda as a scubbing agent. The products I use now come concentrated and all I have to do is add water to the spray bottle, so I can't mess it up. :)

I'm constantly on my family about being more "green". I use good ol vinegar and water to clean most of the time.

I'm the worst. May as well call me the queen of convenience. It hurts the pocketbook just as much as the environment. If I had kids, I'd be one of those bad mommies who buys everything in single-serving convenience package - think Snackables.

I'm proud to say I recycle everything, but the goal would be to consume less packaging in the first place. I'm here for good influence, encouragement and convenient green ideas.

Hi All....sometimes I feel like I'm the only one trying my best to be greeen, out here in Houston, TX. All I can say is I have noticed a huge difference in my allergies and my son's since we have converted all our household products...... We are green and loving it!!
