Earth Day being just around the corner on April 22nd makes me think back to High School when I was a member of the Earth Day Committee at school. That was over 20 years ago back when Earth Day was a much lesser known event.

I find it so exciting to see the strides our planet is taking to 'go green', little things make me smile like the re-usable bags made from recycled materials at places like Trader Joe's.

Even the organic salad I purchase comes in a 'plastic' that is made 100% from corn that can go right in the compost bin!

Times ARE changing, things ARE going green and the more of us that make a conscious effort to do so, we reduce the carbon footprint.

We have personally changed all our light bulbs to the CFLs and it make a huge dent in our electric bill! I have even seen a new style that is the 'spiral' bulb within a regular bulb. One lightbulb at a time makes a huge difference!

We will be planting herbs and berries, I'm a berry nut and soon will have my own blackberries, strawberries and raspberries as well as an abundant herb garden right here in my yard in the middle of the high desert in Nevada.

I teach my daughter ways to go green too, like the other day we went to Panda Express and got bamboo chopsticks instead of plastic forks, every little bit helps!

I buy only 'green' cleaners, Target's line of Method is amazing and affordable!

I'm a lean, go green and logical mom! WOOT!

Oh I love these dolls, I already bought one.....for myself! We have been working on learning about how to plant seeds to make things grow. My son also knows how to recycle.

We're doing a bit of our much needed landscaping, planting a hydrangea and a wisteria.
I think it's the perfect day to get dirty.

I work really hard all year long to reduce reuse and recycle. Earth day is just another recycle day to me
