I consider any breast cancer patient I have cared for a HERO! Any woman that has walked that long road is a HERO in my eyes! My best friend was dx last year, and is doing great ...she is my biggest HERO today!

My Aunt is my hero, she never missed a step in the midst of it all and kept right on going.

As a breast cancer survivor or 2 years, my hero is one of my Mom's good friends from when I was growing up. After I was diagnosed, she helped me out so much. Even though we were 3,000 miles apart, she was there for me. Sadly, one year ago this November, she lost her battle with breast cancer after she had been cancer-free for 7 years. I still think of her often and miss her a lot. Too many wonderful people I know were taken too early because of cancer. We have to put a stop to this disease either by finding a cure or a vaccine.

Thanks for supporting breast cancer awareness month. Perhaps one of the dollars spent will be the one that finds the cure! Every penny counts.

A co-worker is a 5 year survivor. She makes a point of sharing the importance of self-exams and getting mammograms. She has also formed a team to walk during Walk for the Cure.
