New Book: Kittens Teaching Kids Values

New Book: Kittens Teaching Kids Values

“Max and Indie Come Home” is a new children’s book designed to teach children important life values -- such as, responsibility, patience, and trustworthiness. The story features two adorable kittens who, after being adopted by sisters from a local animal shelter, begin a exciting journey together as they adapt to their new environment.

“Max and Indie Come Home” is geared to teach children the ability to adapt to new people and situations and is the first of a series written by authors Kerry Moynahan and Angela O’Brien.

The book was inspired by the writer’s and her cat’s move from Los Angeles to New York City, and thought it would be fun to write semi-fictional stories teaching kids about dealing with change.

“Max and Indie Come Home” will be available online at Amazon.com, BarnesandNoble.com, as well as the book’s official site MaxandIndie.com.

Most readers don't realize that no publisher will print a NOVEL in color over 150 pages; there's just not enough profit in it for them.

FYI, "Littluns: And the Book of Darkness” is a book - that is in some interesting ways like a movie - that's really a 411 page, color illustrated fantasy novel for readers who are looking to discover a very different reading experience - the best of both worlds in family entertainment.

The novel, "Littluns: And the Book of Darkness" is the "Mom's Choice Awards" Gold winner in two categories: FICTION, and also winner for FANTASY, MYTHS, and LEGENDS Gold for 2009, offering the best in family reading, content, and values, within an adventure that has touched readers hearts and enrich enriched souls. Although “Littluns” is family friendly reading, it is best understood by "Young Adult" readers and grownups of all ages; with that spirit of a child’s innocence in all of us just waiting to be experienced all over again.

"Littluns" is a fantasy in reality and truth.

Still wanting more moms to read Cades Cove by Nann Wilson you can check it out at nannwilson.com. Let me know what you think. You can drop the author a note if you would like and if you order from her site she will autograph it for you to whom ever you ask. The book is about an artist that goes to Cades Cove and gets snowed in. She is then rescued by a wolf, bear and raccoon. She brings the animals to life in the book. Children of all ages seem to love it. How ever I have found older readers seem to love it as wel,l it only has 70 pages so it is a easy read with lots of pictures.

"The Drama of the Gifted Child - The Search for the True self" by Alice Miller. This 30th anniversary (updated) book just came out in 2009. By "gifted," the author says this: "I had in mind neither children who receive high grades in school nor children talented in a special way. I simply meant all of us who have survived an abusive childhood thanks to an ability to adapt even to unspeakable cruelty by becoming numb...Without this 'gift' offered us by nature, we would not have survived." It's an psychology lesson for those of us who HAVE been through hell and survived it...and who don't want to pass along to our children, even unconsciously, any of the damage!
