Congratulations, Denise!

Yes, indeed this is a time for celebration--the end of treatment. Someone gave us a gift of a cruise on Royal Carribean and I have to say, it was the beginning of a new life for me. I now make traveling a part of what I do (of course, it's easier now that the "boys" are raised). In fact, I've been doing a lot of it lately and have another big trip planned for overseas in October-November.

I strongly advise a "Celebration of Life Day" to all survivors. A day set apart for just you to enjoy the gift of survivorship. I journal the "gifts" of cancer and how it has changed my life for the positive. Pick any date: mine is April 12 -- the date of my surgery. Sometimes survivors pick the last day of treatment...whatever day is the most significant to you and one that you will remember.

Patty, wow, your sis! I have her on my prayer list. My sister has had so many close calls -- 14 biopsies in all (and they keep coming, but all have been benign). I keep her close in my prayers daily.

Happy belated Fourth of July everyone -- hope you all are enjoying your weekend.

HUGS!

Thanks Patty! Not sure what I will do to celebrate yet. I do know we are going on vaction and will have a BEACH HOUSE right on the beach! we did last year but I didnt really enjoy it like I could have. Always worried about my hats coming off and such.
Big HUGS BACK!

BTW How is your sister doing? I keep her in my thoughts.

Congratulations Denise!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
How awesome is that to be completing your treatments. You have done great.
My followup consists of a mammogram as well. I saw my doc initially every three months, then six months and now yearly. I see another doc in the city as well as and that;s once a year too. Some docs in my practice do bloodwork such as a cbc, metabolic panel and perhaps tumor markers. My physician does none ,has explained why and i;m good with that. Don;t usually see repeat scans unless people are still actively being treated and that;s because it;s metastatic.
What will you do to celebrate? You surely deserve the royal treatment. If you were in my office I would give you an adorable bear. It;s a simple gift we give to our patients to acknowledge them, what they have been through, and far they have come. It always brings a smile to their face.
So, I can;t give you a bear but how bout a Bear Hug!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! over the internet.
Can you feel the LOVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Blessings and gratitude

OK so my last herceptin is in 3 weeks.. Any questions you think I should be asking? I am starting a list. I never remember when I get there so I am starting now. Gonna bring up the cheese thing again. Also.........where do we go from here? Do we do any more scans? Do you girls think there should be scans? I thought there would be but the only thing I have had done lately was the mamo and the ultra sound.

Thank you Denise;
My sister is a courageous warrior who has so much resilience , strength, and faith in this life. She has shown these qualities time and time again when challenges have arisen. I am so blessed to have her as my sister.

Hello everyone:
I am requesting prayers and healing thoughts for my beautiful sister Joanne who has recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. I will be there to support her every step of the way as she was there for me.
I remember so well the power of prayers and how it can bring some semblance to the chaos of the cancer journey. You have all been there and know .
With love and gratitude for the support we continuously give to one another.
