I love it -- pink hair! I was in the mall the other day and saw an entire family with pink highlights, and I chuckled to myself. I actually prefer what your boys did -- the pink stripe! It's so awesome! Give your boys a great big hug for me! :-)

All 3 of my boys went to a salon here and made a $15 donation and got pink in their hair! IT is not the washout kind. LOL I think it is cute

It's funny, in the beginning I dreaded the month of "pink" because it was a painful reminder of all that I had been through, but now it's something I look forward to because it's a chance to give back. Of course, there's always that "fear" that lurks inside, but it's more like a grain of sand in my foot -- not a huge boulder like it once was.

Denise: Good for you doing the 5-mile walk. I try to do one this time of year -- in Harrisburg, the capital of PA. It's a great day and always lots of PINK!.

Patty: I just spent some time with my sister in California and for the first time she admitted to me that "breast cancer" was her major fear (both my mom and I have faced it). She is 55 years old and has had 18 breast biopsies. She's on my prayer list daily!

I'm glad you all took advantage of the $25 gift certificate being offered for filling out a survey. LOL - as an author I have too many books, so I orderd a Cuisinart skillet! ;)

Oh, ladies, don't forget to stop by the Estee Lauder counter to get your pink lipstick. It's not free ($22), so I ordered mine on line and for signing up, I got two free items (perfume and firming cream!), and if you buy $50 or more, you get to choose two more items, plus free shipping. I stuck with my budget! My hubby will be proud of me. Each year, I indulge in a non-food item that is pink and makes me feel good. Can't hurt, might help!

HUGS TO ALL OF YOU!

Hello to all;
Denise , what an awesome, amazing kickbock instructor you have. She gets IT.
You are blessed to have each other in your lives. But do you see, what YOU have taught and shown others. The gifts that come out of this wild, crazy journey called cancer.
My sister is doing so well. Thanks for asking. She just completed number 2 of 5 cycles. Her mind, body and spirit are strong and she is one of us; a courageous , beautiful warrior. She has taught me so much already and i am so grateful to be her sister.
Continued good health to you. Forget about tomorrow and what might happen and live each moment as it is;;;; a maginificent moment.

I wanted to share with you all a wonderful topic i have begun reading about. The topic is mindfulness and the books i am reading are by a Jon Kebat=Zinn. He actually lives near me and is an incredible speaker and author.
Very simply mindfulness is about paying attention, on purpose, without judgement , and in the present moment. A mouthful, I know but what mindfulness is it gives us clarity and helps us to live joyfully in the present moment . In this way, you let go of the past and don;t let the future bog us down. Truly the present moment is all we have in the present moment!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Blessings and love
Patty

Patty how is your sister doing?
Denise Comment by Denise on September 23, 2009 at 12:02pm
Well the journey still continues. I am having one of my "what if this isnt over" days. In the back of my mind lately is the fact that I had one of the most aggressive breast cancers and that alot of times it comes back. I dont want to do this again. But then there are days I say .........One day I will most likely have to do this again and so what. did it once can do it again. Today is not one of those days.

Then I emailed my kickboxing instructor that I am back and well so I want to pay for class now (she wouldnt let me pay before and I thought that was nice since I wasnt going all the time) so she says ZIP IT. So I send back but I am back full time so I think I should pay and she sends this.........

"i know and could not be happier......lets never talk of money again.....you showed me such inner strength and such a positive attitude what you have gone through...blew me away.....i so respect that....you are a survior....you are no whimp you handled a very scary thing like a worrier and with positive energy....that is my payment....in fact you over paid but no refund....lol i love a d admire you........when i first met you...you were like a little scared puppy.........now....pit bull...of coarse with lipstick!! "

Which of course made me cry.

Just had to get that out!

Hope everyone here is doing well.

I'm the founder of a start-up company in California developing a new breast cancer information Web site. We're seeking breast cancer survivors to take a survey about their experiences researching treatment topics online. It will take about 15-20 minutes and we are offering a $25 Amazon gift certificate to participants. Just go to http://latestbc.questionpro.com
Thanks.
