Our favorite musuem is our local Dupage Childrens musuem. We have a membership as it's such a great place to bring your children for a few hours especially when it's too hot or too cold outside as it often is in our extreme chicago weather. The kids love to play in the water table room and make giant bubbles that they can be inside of! I also love how they change the upstairs exhibit every 6 months or so to something new. They have a really fun kids New Years Eve ball at noon!!
This is one of those movies that moms and kids both love -so funny, love Ben Stiller and Robin William in this.
My favorite local museum is "Old Economy Village" in Ambridge, PA. Until recent budget cuts caused it to loose funding and shut down, it was a wonderful "living museum" example of the life of the members of the Harmonist Society. It was great to get to see how people lived and worked in the late 1800's.
Our favorite musuem is CRANBROOK INSTITUTE OF SCIENCE in Bloomfield Hills, MI. Besides permanent displays that are interesting for all ages, my kids at all ages have LOVED their temporary always changing special exhibits that are VERY interactive and hands on and lots of fun. They are often a completely multi sensory immersive experience for the whole family. We also love their nature center at any time of the year because of the amazing animals there that you get to see up close and personal, even bats and owls etc.
My second favorite museum in the area is in Midland MI which is MIDLAND CENTRE OF THE ARTS It is a multifaceted place from playful hands on exhibits that are also interactive to special look but dont touch exhibits/displays to culture for the whole family including absolutely wonderful live plays, comedy drama etc. to musicals. They are always doing something NEW there too so it is different each time we visit which will always keep us coming back for more.
Our favorite local museum is the CROCKER ART MUSEUM.
Every year in February , they have a Valentines Day ARTS AND CRAFTS event for the whole family!
It's like a buffet of odds and ends for Valentine crafting! It's so much fun!!
It is also a wonderful place to go anytime! It's full of culture and knowledge!!

My favorite museum is the Smithsonian.. for the longest time it was relatively local to me in WV, but now, it's farther away and still a favorite. It has a variety of historical art and presentations that are always a joy.
my absolute favorite museum is kinda cheesy but it's the childrens' museum that i just recently took my kids too here in san antonio texas ..its small yet so fun and interesting and exciting for my kids they enjoyed it so much and cried when we left.
Museum of Natural History in New York City has been a favorite of mine since I was a girl. I especially like the art appreciation and drawing course I got to take there when I was young, I greatly enjoyed it! Now I take my nephew and he loves it! (Needless to say I'm his favorite Aunt, well OK, I'm his ONLY Aunt, but so what!!! LOL) :-)
