I live in Los Angeles so I've only been to the ones here. My favorite is the Getty Museum. I want to say the Griffith Observatory, but that's not really a museum. Anyways, the Getty is very beautiful and multicultural, tapping into many ways of art appreciation. It even has a small area for people to just sit and sketch. The entrance fee is free although you have to pay for parking... unless you have a friend drop you off. Then you ride an air tram that oversees the freeway underneath. I would love to be able to visit the Smithsonian someday. I love reading their magazines and explore the different ages and culture of historic pasts.
This movie helps to relate what to expect when I do visit the museum and it's pretty entertaining. So... I hope I win this. Maybe I can give it to my husband for Christmas as a hint.
I'm in Atlanta, and my favorite local museum is the Fernbank Museum of Natural History. It's a great place for adults and children, very family friendly. They get some really great exhibits.
I also like the High Museum of Art. They get some great exhibits too.
My favorite here in NJ is Allaire State Park... I know its not an actual Museum but its a living history park, they have restored buildings and people re-enacting the past. The kids love it!
In my town of Waterford Ct. they opened a great Dinosaur museum we go there every summer and try to take as many kids as possible, this museum is awesome, there is so many different things to see and slso hands on for the kids, you look at therre little eyes when the gentleman is trying to explain that Dinosaurs really existed, it is hard to get them to leave so we try to make a complete day of it, every summer we ask o, kids pick where you want to go and of course the Dinosaur Museum, they have a place to eat and an ice cream shop out doors, the shop to buy items for the dinosaur era is really cool, as a grownup you feel like kid again when you go there, I would recommend this Museum to anyone coming to Connecticut, the exibits are hugh and you can really see what it must of been like back then. thanks you for the chance, this movie would be a great addition to watch, and w dosent love Ben Stiller
My favorite local museum would have to be the Kern County Museum. It's one of those museums that has gathered some of the old and historical houses and buildings from the Kern County area and put them in one place. There's the old jail, the kids love that! And when I say old, I mean the old wooden one with the bars, holds maybe two people at one time. They have some of the old trains and I mean real engines and caboose for the kids to look at. Can't go into them unfortunately but still, very cool. they have one of the first oil wells there and you can push a button and see how it once worked. Kids from the local schools visit there on field trips and get to find out how the pioneers lived. It's a pretty cool place to visit.
My favorite Museum is the Kern County Museum in my hometown. They have neat old buildings that are actually homes and businesses from the olden days. I also love my museum because they are always having events like Safe Halloween, etc. It would be neat, though scary lol if some of the things came to life at night.
My favorite local museum is the Train Museum in Old Sacramento, CA. My oldest daughter and I love walking through there and both of us are just amazed at the enormous size of some of the trains!
I live in Los Angeles and we have several museums here, we use to go to the La Brea tar pits and that museum a lot. We were also member of the Natural History museum and thhey would have a members night and you got to go all through the museum restricted area and see all the behind the scenes stuff and talk to the staff
We have a wonderful old museum that chronicles our Madison County! They have different various displays
throughout the year. Right now, they have clothing and decorations from various past periods of the holiday
seasons on disply. Love it. My youngest son loves Ben Stiller and this DVD. Many thanks, Cindi
Well having a big family with 6 being children, we usually try going to free museums. The one that I love and remember going t as a child was our state capitol and even has a little movie theatre to show how the building was made. We would love to win this movie!!!!!
