Permalink Reply by Melissa Casserly on December 19, 2008 at 9:53am Thanks Melissa!
I couldn't agree more that abundance has little to do with money! And I think that "Money Savvy Pig" is an awesome idea... I'm going to have to google that... I will have to check that book out too... :-)
Maeve and Shannon are certainly on the right track and they will thank you for it!

Permalink Reply by Danielle Hoston on December 19, 2008 at 12:51pm We really try to help our boys understand the value of money and how it is earned through hard work. We also have had them tithe since they started getting allowance. I think if they know how to glorify God w/ their money now it will really help them when they are on their own.
We also talk about debt and how God doesn't want us to live beyond our means, especially when buying things of this world that you can't take with you. We just heard a sermon at church last week talking about material things and that God does allow us to have things while on this earth but he wants us to be responsible to Him and to others with our money.
My teenagers still have a lot to learn especially since they don't have a job of their own yet but I think the best way is to show them what the Bible says and to back it up in our everyday life.
:)
Merry Christmas!
