Photography

Hello all, I just recently became more of a camera buff than ever before in my life! I've always taken picture after picture of my loved one's and landscapes..however, I just recently began taking my camera every where I go, so that I can take pictures everywhere sunup to sundown! I have had the time of my life! As the mother of an 18 year old Autistic, Epileptic, child who has as well, mild CP, Luekopenia Syndrome and is developmentally nine years old., he as well has central sleep apnea as well as other challenges...I tell you all this, as to encourage those of you who have challenged children, to share with you that recently I pulled my son out of public schools, due to hime having that H1N1 virus, which affected him severely and my hubby and I just had cold symptoms...here I go, getting off track....LOL. Okay anyway, my son recently took up photography as well and has long been a wonderful artist, together now we both take pictures out doors and make photo colloges and many other projects. With tons of Picky Positive statement (kept short and sweet) and happy stickers on their calendars! We also have a special way for him to earn money (his disability check)
Each time he completes a required daily skill, he checks it off....because spec. needs kids need short term goals and lots of praise and rewards that encourage them to push forward toward their reward. In my son's case it's a paycheck....In the form of a one dollar bill for each skill checked off of his daily routine....Recently, he has begun to be able to count money by ones! He is quite the handsome little cassanova and all the teachers, attendent care personel and therapist adore him, as do I....When they are young...you can often feel overwelmed and think that your child will never chill out or be calm, cool, and collective, but I assure you, with unconditional love, patience, and perseverence, your child WILL come around and your photo journals WILL be witness to the beautiful and challenging journey that you have taken together.
