I try an take off guard photos-when no one is expecting me to take a picture-I also love to set up backgrounds and take pictures-ever since I was in high school I wanted to become a photgrapher but was never able to.

I would love to win this gift card!

This is neat! I like to take tons of pictures and put them into a photobook later so we can revisit those memories.
I am always taking pictures. I fill up my memory card almost weekly and have to transfer them to my computer. I'm always printing out pics & changing out the pictures in the frames around the house. If I didn't change them out every wall would be filled with picture frames! I also have a dozen or so photo albums that the girls look through. I want to get into scrapbooking, either real SB or digital so that I can have an even better way to show off the pictures.
My very favorite way of being creative and capturing memories especially with my grandsons is to get down on the floor at their level or below. For this grandma, it's not easy. I have two replaced knees (that are not for kneeling) and it's a chore just to get down to the floor and a chore to get back up. But the photos of the grands are so unique when taken at their level or looking up at them.
I take tons of pictures, but I also take short videos with my digital camera (because I don't have a camcorder), then piece them together with a meaningful song for little family music videos. (:
I carry a camera with me all the time to catch that unexpected 'moment'. And I take lots and lots of photos. I am well known in my circles for having a camera with me always and using it!
I just discovered this great product called the XShot Camera Extender. It is amazing. If you are always trying to find a clever way to take a picture of yourself when no one is around, this is the product for you. It extends your camera so you don't have to look so obvious as the picture-taker. This is the way I make my pictures you realistic. It extends to take the picture, but you can fold it when you are done.

I love handing the camera over to my almost 7 year old and letting him take pictures at events and on trips - I make sure we get a few good ones of the things I want to capture, then I hand it over to him. He's got a fresh perspective and it's fun to look at what catches his eye. Knowing it's digital and we can delete the truly bad ones, it's all good!
I store cameras all the around the house and in my cars so I can capture the picture before the moment is over. (Which is why I have six cameras!) This is especially helpful with two kids-one 6 year old who is a little tornado, and a three month old baby girl who already thinks she is the princess. I like to take quiet pictures, where I sneak up on them so I can get a genuine expression. I like backgrounds that are unconventional, like the Salt Flats, the baseball field, graffitied buildings, and dilapidated buildings. Instead of centering the subject and have a super posed face, I like to off-center them and have a calm face or a small smile.

It would be flippin' awesome to get this gift card so I could turn one of my good pictures into a special painting.
I set up unique back grounds to take pictures of my kids for scrapbooking.I've also started making a photo wall in my living room with wall quotes above.
I think that the best way to capture real photos is to keep your camera on you and take lots of photos on a regular basis. If the people around you have gotten used to you and your camera, they won't feel the need to pose or be on alert. You can capture more natural reactions and situations that way.
