I love taking tons of candid shots and then just keeping the best ones! We have a larger camera at home and I keep a small one in my purse/van that we call "the van-cam". That way whenever we want to take pictures, there's always one on hand, besides a camera phone.
I always try to have my camera ready and take as many pictures as possible to capture the one perfect shot. With babies and toddlers you just have to keep snapping away until you get it! TG for digital!
What an amazing give-away! Although my response is pretty simple - I find great joy in taking many photos of my 19-month old in the most natural way possible without prompting or directing her. I try to capture her as she is in the moment. The joy continues after sharing the photos with family and friends.
I'd love this. I take my camera and snap pix all the time. I love to catch the kids playing. One of the things I do is help my grand kids create a picture card or a collage of pix for their Mom and Dad for gifts. They think of ways to pose or they go through the pix that i've taken and select the ones they like best of themselves. Then they create a card or write a note. We print and frame. They are very proud of their work.
The simple shots are usually the best - the ones of everyday life, where no one has posed or primped for them - they're just being themselves. I love those the most!
Even before I had my son I was constantly taking pictures! All my friends have told me how thankful they are that I have always had my camera handy. Now that he is here I never have my camera or camcorder far from reach as he is always doing something cute. I love taking pictures of my son outside in the early or late day (he's just learned how to walk). I also love taking pictures of my son laying with the cats watching Super Why on PBS.
I almost always have my camera within arms reach. You never know when an adorable nmoment is going to happen. My family teases me that I take too many pictures but as everyone gets older, I know they will appreciate that I was able to catch some of those moments!!
I am always carrying a video camera or photo camera. Digital both. Sometimes I even make a photo from the videos. My girls 8, 9, 11, design and put on concerts for me many times a year. I love to record those. Then of course I print them and make photo albums on the pc. Back up on a separate hard drive.
I capture a lot of memories by keeping a camera on me and in strategic places all of the time. I keep my good camera in my purse so I can always grab it and take a picture. My old camera is hanging from it's strap in my kitchen because there is always action in the kitchen. In my car, I keep a disposable just in case I forget my camera.
I like to take a lot of candids, but it's also fun to pose. Giving family some props and even signs that I have made makes for some fun pictures. At holidays, we try to have a theme color because that makes a fun photo seeing everyone in jeans and white shirts or everyone in black pants/skirts and red shirts for Christmas. Items such as hats and hula hoops always make for people with great expressions and action as well.
I love to journal next to my photos in a scrapbook album.....I journal "to" my children...with my love, written down...hopefully their great grandchildren will see that they come from a family of love.
I could really use the camera, I am doing my student teaching in January and we have to have all of our porfolio on a dvd I could use the camera to take the pictures and put it on a disk.
I have a new litter of puppies to take pictures of. 3 females and many more to come. This camera would come in handy for a scrapbook for all my babies.
