I am a s.a.h.m. of a six and eight year old boys. Been married 10 1/2 years. Some days are great and you are proud to be at home. Other days, every minute ticks by so slow that you just want to go to bed and start over the next day. Very hard, but very rewarding.

I've been S.A.H.M. for about 4years. i love being there for my babies but i guess i need to find a hobby, or a nice break more then once a month.

OMG, I have been a s.a.h.m for 3 years and lately i have been feeling a little frazled. I feel so bad because I feel like I could leave her with granny for about a month. I need a break; a mental break. my little is a demanding handful. But I can't be upset because being an independent thinker is what I taught from the time she could sit up. She needs more attention than I can give her. She will be leaving me for school this year and i am having extreme seperation anxiety. to the point where i am thinking of changing my mind. she is more than ready so it will be all for selfish reasons. please someone help me stay sane.

Hi my name is Donna. I have been a SAHM for 21 years now. I chose this lifestyle because I wanted to raise my children so they can have a normal childhood. I have found that being a SAHM is more important when your children are teenagers.
I would rather be a SAHM and not have any money than to be a working Mom who is unable to give their child the attention they need because they are busy cooking dinner when they get home or too tired and stressed out to spend time with them.

Wow, I wish I would have known about this when my kids were little and everyone looked down on me for being a SAHM. It's been a long road(9 yrs)with many ups and downs but I'm grateful for the opportunity and wouldn't go back and do it differently, anyway. The rewards are great, that's for sure!

Hi Dacia. I know how you are feeling. My kids are 22 months apart. When my son was born in February of 2007, my daughter was only 22 months. It can be a struggle at first, by once my son got on a routine- things seemed to calm down and now my kids are best friends!

Hi! I'm Maya, and I'm a SAHM to a 9 month old who just started crawling and standing. He keeps me pretty busy! Most days I love being at home with him, but I also miss working. I wish I could find a good part-time job from home.
