Definitely start with sittercity!
I recommend it to all my friends with children and other parents. It is the best way to get connected with sitters around your area.

Just do some phone interviews with the candidates and see who you connect best with. From there you can actually have a face to face meeting with a few sitters you've picked. After you select the one you want, I would recommend keep a few others handy just in case of an emergency or the first falls through!

SitterCity is great, but don't be afraid to ask other moms you meet for recomendations as well. If you don't know many people yet, I reccomend going to story time's at local librarys or bookstores to start rebuilding your social network of moms.
