We do a lot of arts and crafts, we scrapbook, we love to watch movies on the couch and we all get under a big blanket. Some day we sit and practice on what ever school work we are haveing problems with
We play a lot of UNO as a family. We also play Monopoly Junior which is a shorter version of the game. Better for those short attention spans. We have the kids color and draw quite a bit by making sure they have notebooks and crayons, markers and colored pencils. Sometimes they play with Play Doh, which they really like. Then there are times they help us bake cookies and of course, there is the family movie time where we watch a family friendly movie and have popcorn. There's tons of stuff to do when it's freezing outside.
We bake cookies, play board games, pop some corn and watch movies. are some of the favorite things we love to do. I would love to win this movie so we can enjoy it together, I love family movie time.
cdziuba@aol.com This is such a simple idea, and I only let the kids do it when we are stick in the house due to inclement weather. I buy shoestring licorice, and we make "jewlery" by stringing Cheerios and Fruit Loops onto the licorice. It's so cute, they end up eating a lot of cereal, but it keeps them occupied. And that's the point!
During the winter months I like to put together holiday appropriate crafts for my children and I to do together. we also like to play board games, cards, and watch movies. We have had many indoor picnics during bad weather. just putting a blanket on the floor makes it fun and special.
Daytime). We play games, or do crafts, or write a story that we can share with everyone later.
Nighttime). We pick out a good movie, and make some snacks (popcorn balls, cupcakes, coated pretzels etc.) and hot chocolate. Then we get our pillows and blankets and woobies(stuffed friends). Then we push the coffee table out of the way and I (grandma) get in the middle and them on each side, then we enjoy the movie, and by the time its over everyone is asleep and happy.
