Tell us below how you plan on gearing up for the new school year to be entered to win!
I think the most important thing to do to gear of for the new school year is to create a routine sleep schedule a few weeks before. Over summer, children are often allowed to break their normal bedtime to enjoy their vacation. This often leads to difficulty when it is time to wake them up in the morning.
A few weeks before school starts, have your child go to bed as they would for school. This will make for a smooth transition.
Right now my little one is still at home so we are doing everything that we can to get her prepared for going to school next year, but learning all of the basics. She also loves to read so it would be great to win this gift.
Getting my kids on a schedule. During the summer naps, feeding, and playtime get all messed up with vacations. It's good to get them back into a routine and a good schedule so there isn"t a tough adjustment at the beginning of school.
Don't try to do everything at once, you'll feel too rushed. School preparation should be a shared experience. Let the kids pick out the book bags and binders. Get some books from the library that are a reflection of the grade level that they will be entering so they know what to expect.
I have two children a 9 year old and a 2 year old. My 9 year old already has his backpack packed with school supplies and sitting by the door. My 2 year old of course wants to be like his big brother so he has his "backpack" by the door as well. During homework time for the older son the younger will have "homework time" with mom. I will read to him or work on different activities with him. This would be perfect for my youngests homework time!

I have an 18 month girl who enjoys being read to and at times, tries to read to her self. She's really into her books especially if it has ducklings or kittens. We encourage her a lot and hopefully this love for books will continue :)
We are gearing up for the school year by trying to master all the basics so that he will be thoroughly prepared for kindergarden. I think he will love these books!
I try to keep my kids in the learning mentality all summer long by taking them to the library 1-2x/week as well as making everyday opportunities to learn by asking them what letters are on a sign or product at the store.
I agree with many of the other comments, a schedule is key. Start getting back to a regular routine several weeks before school starts. It's also great to start talking about school and getting everyone excited for the new year. That way they are looking forward to it.
