Hello, I'm new to this.  I've been married to my fire-medic husband for 2 years.  We dont' have kids yet but that will come soon.  I just want to know how you all do it.  He works full time with 1 squad and part time on another and runs volunteer fire/ems with our town.  I never get to spend any time with him without him leaving for runs.  He is never "off".  He doesn't understand when I try to talk to him, he's always saying if someone dies, it would be on him if he doesn't go.  I just want my fun husband back from the ems addiction.  Please HELP!!

I've been looking for awhile for a place that had wives to firefighters or Medics. One of the hardest parts for me is my husband being gone all the time. He is also a student and when he isn't working, he is doing a clinical two hours away. I work full time aswell and attend school so us crossing paths is like a solar ellipse.

Hello! I am so glad to find a site where maybe I can find other Wives/Mom going through the same day to day. I am married to a Paramedic, and we have a 2 year old daughter. My husband changed careers from Computer IT to Paramedic about a year ago. There is no such thing as Mon-Fri, 8-5 anymore. There is lots of overtime, and committee meetings... He is also a volunteer for our fire dept. So I definitely feel like a married single mom. So proud of my husband, but wish we had more time together.

Hi everyone! I am Firefighter wife! and yes Terra I feel like a single parent all the time. We have a 3 1/2yr old girl. My husband work 24 on and 48 off. He is also a Fire Marshall Deputy on his off days so he is always in "on" mode. lol

Hello everyone I am a 911 Comm Center floor supervisor for a fire department in Ca. I may not be married to someone that works in these fields but some times I feel like it since I spend 10hours a day at my dispatch center so I totally feel for you all at home after their shift is over. LOL

My husband and I are both 911 dispatchers. We work opposite 12 hour shifts. I work nights, he works days. We are well aware of what goes on out there on the other end of the radio. Hope you don't mind me being here!
