A funny thing happened on the way to my blog...

But I'll get to that in a minute...

Seriously - August?

Already?

I was considering titling this post "What I Did on My Summer Vacation", but that would have been a bit monumentally disingenuous. Because February, March, April, and let's face it, most of May are not technically even remotely part of Summer Vacation.

What this Presidential Inauguration means to me...

In the interest of full disclosure, and at the risk of offending a few of you, let me start off by saying I am not a fan of George W. Bush. I know, not many of us are these days...but I was way ahead of the crowd. I literally cried when he was elected. Both times.

Going Beyond "I'm Here if You Need Me"

In another, smaller, online moms community where I am active, one of our ranks is struggling. Her name is Melissa, and sometime before Christmas, her husband will deploy to Iraq. The sense of heaviness she feels is not from a fear of the unknown, but because she already knows what life without him will be like. This is her husband's second deployment. He will be gone for at least 18 months, and as she notes, two consecutive Christmases. Their young daughter will double in age before her father i… Continue

Finding it hard to cheer along...

Yesterday, thanks to the generosity of my brother- and sister-in-law and the pair of tickets they had to spare, my husband and I went to the Georgia Dome to watch the Atlanta Falcons play the New Orleans Saints. We had a great time - it was the first opportunity we've had to go to a Falcons game since we moved here a few years ago. In fact, now that I think about it, it's been 20 years since the last time I went to a professional football game. And here's what made the biggest impression on me y… Continue

Atlanta's "Dialog in the Dark'

I first learned of this unique exhibition from a friend who has children a few years older than my own preschoolers - she is planning to take her children for the positive perspective she hopes they will gain regarding difference, disability, and diversity. I haven't yet gone,… Continue

Hi Michelle, Thanks for the welcome. The accent is easily done on my Mac keyboard , there is a combination of keys that I use to do it. I agree it is good to meet a fellow Atlanta. I just meet a gaggle (lol) of bloggers from Atlanta on Tuesday, you can check out my review of the meeting on my blog under Reviews.

This has to be the ultimate classic movie. It still amazes me how much work and time went into the production of this movie.
